dfaehling, I'm sure you're right regarding the patches. There wasn't enough budget to add another figure, so they put in something cheaper but is still a bonus. It's fine. The plane and Wild Weasel is enough for the price. Everything else is gravy.
Obviously, licensing plays into the different brands for Haslabs. And licensor approval. I didn't go for the Cantina. But there were a lot of parts to it. Certainly, the Rattler is more impressive as it's one solid items and not a lot of separate bits you can move around. |

The cantina suffers from lack of a floor and lights imo. Sure, these could be added via customization, but why should I have to bother if I'm putting so much down? I chose to save my money for the Rattler as I knew we'd get lighting given the HISS and DF.

There is probably someone doing a lot of cleanup of spam orders that somehow get through all their safeguards. I feel like we see a little of this with every HasLab and I bet they are more inclined to do some cleanup right before each milestone because they know everyone is watching and waiting for an announcement.

Was just on a Star Wars site I follow, and there was a pic of the Rattler with the story "Do Star Wars Fans Settle For Less Too Often?". It mentions the Rattler versus the Cantina.
As much complaining as we do- we got it pretty damn good. Sure, SW has been around longer and may be exhausting ideas/ figs... but I'm grateful to have what we have as Classified collectors, brothers and sisters. |

After catching up on all the videos and reveals since last night, my thoughts, should anyone care...
Rattler - It's awesome. I'm still pissed about the patches and will continue to be pissed about them until the campaign unlocks the other 2 figures. Honestly would have preferred they just said there's only 2 tiers and keep the pocket change they would have saved on the patches. The patches are fine, but I'm a nerd, not a dork. If you wear these patches out in public you are a dork. Just saying. Lastly, the gunner is a beauty. Love that figure even though it's a repainted Wild Weasel. Starduster - Now that the unique headsculpt is confirmed, I love it. Will probably get 2. CERTIFIED PICKUP Raptor - This appears to be a hot topic this morning. I'm indifferent, he was always stupid as hell to me as a kid, and as Airtight mentioned, he always flew in my imagination and play. I don't mind the robo jet pack, I actually dig the idea that it's an improved CLAW design per the "CL-2" or whatever marking is on the wing. If anything, I love figures that add different elements and display potential to my collection. The mere fact that this figure has wings means I can have him hovering over other characters. I dig that. CERTIFIED PICKUP Roadpig - After all the hype, this one was a bit of a disappointment to me and it is based soley on that portrait. He literally looks like he's from another toy line. I hate the headsculpt, it's not Falcon level bad, but it's so stylistically out of place that I hate it just as much. I'll be putting that muzzle thing on him to hopefully downplay this look. Otherwise the body and accessories are dope. Didn't need the dog, but that's fine. CERTIFIED PICKUP Steel Brigade / Dusk Till Dawn Trooper - The more I see of this set, the more convinced I am that I just don't need it. Nothing here really interests me and that's ok. TOTAL PASS Marine Sniper - The ghillie suit is cool, but I don't need this. For those interested in a more traditional Shooter figure, the parts are there for an easy kitbash. TOTAL PASS Halo Jumper - This one is tough for me. I'm going to pick it up, but it's another one I don't necessarily need. Especially when we know a true V1 Ripcord is on the way. I ended up caving here when I saw the camo face paint. Damn it, they got me. CERTIFIED PICKUP CLAW - Terrible figure and maybe one of the dumber vehicles in Joe lore. I never liked this vehicle as a kid and don't like it now. The fact that they paired it with another beat figure like they did with the Ferret makes this a guilt free pass. TOTAL PASS Zandar - He looks cool enough. As someone mentioned (was it Tywin Lannister?) I'll scoop him up, add him to my Dreadnoks and forget about him. CERTIFIED PICKUP Leatherneck - I'll grab him because he's still a recognizable character for me, but I'll be honest, this one is kinda boring. Was hoping they would bring some freshness here somehow. I'll probably be looking for ways to add gear or excitement to him. CERTIFIED PICKUP Saw there was a lot of discussion about a retro V2 Snake Eyes. I don't mean to piss in anyone's cheerios, but I'm not sure having Snake Eyes as part of the mural art means anything at all. I mean, he's Snake Eyes, if he was missing it would be totally weird. Cobra Commander, Destro, Duke, Scarlett and Snake Eyes are all pretty standard brand ambassadors for Joe. I would not take that as confirmation we're getting a retro V2 snakes. The Cobra Commander and Destro that were part of the same illustration were not retro. The hint at the silhouetted character on the CLAW artwork could be more of a tell, but I dunno how anyone could look at that and confirm it's anything but a character in all black. All that said, I'd totally welcome a V2 Snakes and would be happy for those that want him as well. |

Yes. Every time I go to hit 'commit' - my brain talks me out of it.
$325 = Thirteen! regular Classified figures. I'd get much more enjoyment out of 13 figures than I will out of one Rattler. Realistically - I will just keep Wild Weasel then sell of the plane. I did that with the HISS and it worked fine. I didn't do it with the Dragonfly... so now I have to find Wild Bill on the secondary market. But - I STILL have a Skystriker taking up space in my closet - and I have no prospects to sell it. I don't feel like messing with that again for the Rattler. Ugh. Brain wants one thing, my eyes and emotions want something else. I'm torn.
