Crazy week gents. My daughter was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and I've been here with her 24/7. Nothing life threatening but dealing with a crappy situation.

Classified gave me a well needed break from reality yesterday though as my daughter was knocked out all day on pain meds so I sat on my phone and tracked all of the coverage. I kept up on the boards here and I read every single post but just didn't contribute to the conversation at all. Watched everything last night as well.

Here is my two cents...

The entire day seemed unorganized and chaotic on Hasbro's end. The botched 11am Livestream. The confusion on what was actually happening last night and at what time. The super anti climatic reveal of the HasLab by stumbling upon the Pulse listing before seeing the reveal video. No room to breathe... We see the Rattler for the first time and cannot even digest it because of all of the figure reveals. The day was disjointed and confusing.

Now about the offerings. Super happy for those of you who are excited for these figures but almost everything shown yesterday is a pass for me. No Road Pig, no Raptor, no Starduster. I liked some of the render reveals and name only reveals (retro RnR!) but I'm not pre-ordering anything that's going up today except maybe the 60th HALO jumper. I'm not interested in Once a Man CC but was surprised that he was not really talked about yesterday. Unbelievable happy for DT for Zandar! Finally!

The Rattler. Backed it last night when it was in the 7,000's I believe. But I have to say I am so pissed off about fucking patches being the first tier that I was almost going to pass out of anger. But I did not want to cut off my nose to spite my face and besides the patches the rest of the package being offered is absolutely insane. I'm really excited but God damn this thing is going to be a bitch to store and display.

But, as excited as I am though I can honestly say that I'm not as excited for the Rattler and it's figures as I was/am for the HISS and the Dragonfly. Or even the VAMP for that matter. I loved the Rattler as a kid but it was not one of my favorites.

It was great reading these boards all day yesterday, lots of good discussions, and I'm really happy to be a part of such an awesome community. We are hands down the most passionate collector base out there gents and it shows.

I also still find it interesting that as a tier 6 figure that most people couldn?t care about is getting a lot of hate. I don?t care if he is gi joe version of vulture, black noir is the boys version of snake eyes and is pretty cool.

Realistically, I think we are at the point in Classified where every wave is going to please some people and disappoint others. We've already had all the big name characters: Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Gung Ho, Roadblock, Flint, Lady Jaye, CC, Destro, Baroness, and Zartan. And we've been through most of the next tier already too. From this point out, there aren't many easy lay-ups or guaranteed home runs.

On top of that, Classified has expanded and reinvigorated the Joe fanbase in a way we haven't seen since the 80's. I am a classic example -- I hadn't really thought about Joe since 1987 and, yet, here we are and I am a whale Classified collector now. CLassified has gotten a lot of buzz and even call outs in mainstream media. This means a much bigger fan base with way more diverse tastes.

It is actually a good thing that there are so many different opinions in the line- that means it's not just a small single-minded group of fans being served.

A lot of people think the patches are stupid. They should have been a special thank you tier if broke 20,000. Though Hasbro can make this an even bigger hit if they can add a 22,000 tier and throw Raven or a fourth figure in there. It will continue their haslab domination. The helicopter to me was such great value and fantastic figure choices. The rattler the three they picked were solid. They add a scar to that gunner and you have scarface

I just went back and read about the Retro v2 Snake-Eyes teases!! Those had totally went over my dense head! Holy crap! Sweet mutha of pearl! I bet we see renders in the next couple of months! I just got Jinx this week and I am so pumped for v2 Storm Shadow now as well! Man, I wish I had ordered a Dragonfly now! P.S. What does DT think of Zandar? I think he looks good but I am not the expert.

I'd rank the Classified Haslab figure offerings as:

#1 Dragonfly $275 with Wild Bill, Glenda, NF Ripcord, NF Crazylegs
#2 Rattler $325 with Wild Weasel, Baroness, Gunner
#3 HISS $300 with Driver, Gunner, Tactician and Cobra Commander

While I agree the patches are a bummer tier (but look great), the overall package is solid. A 4th figure would be great though.

Nailed it. There was something for ever Joe fan in this year's showcase. Whether you're an old school fan or an O-ring historian, and they even expanded further with new lore with the SB Commander & Twilight Guards.
