I don’t understand the Raptor hate… He is CLASSIFIED (a modern updated twist on a classic character). He can still be released in the retro wave with wings made from soft goods. People seem to be conflating retro with classified, and then being disappointed when a classified figure does not look retro enough.

Here's my take so far:

YAY: Starduster, and PROBABLY that Ripcord-esque dude. He looks amazing and a potential salve until we get Retro Rip. OAMCC, of course, IF I can get a copy on Pulse. Not sure if I will pay extra to scalpers but I love him so much.

MAY: Raptor has always been such a goof. I've always wanted him. I don't care for the robo-wings but I don't HATE them. I'll probably end up getting him.

I debated about Quarrel, I think because Rattler is looming, and ultimately put it off and now they're sold out, so I think I'm going to leave International/Z-fighter figures alone for a bit... maybe.

NAY: I can easily forgo the purple pals. Usually I love all the stuff that comes out of this line but they feel a bit underwhelming to me. Again... who knows. I get a raise/promotion, and maybe I'll start in with the sub-teams, but for now I'm pretty much sticking to '80s and early '90s (very early) RAH.

The HissTank.com street team out at SDCC 2024 just got an update from Hasbro. The Live stream will take place 5 -5:15PM Pacific or 8-8:15PM Eastern along side of the G.I. Joe Hasbro panel.

Even based on the single photo, if you ditch the wings and ninja claws I think you have a pretty good Raptor. It looks like Raptor. A soft cape would be nice. We’ll see.

I think part of that reason is a lot of the main line Classified just look like their retro counterparts. Quick Kick, Firefely, Eels, Snow Serpents, Crimson Guards, Stalker, Outback, Lowlight, for instance.. or even the newly revealed Starduster. I'm not sure there is an actual delineation between the lines except for the classic card art.

The new pics are good. I don't like him having Flint's haircut but I like everything else. Will move him to my "YAY" list.
