I am somewhat amused that a good portion of their display - either I already have or its in the mail at the moment winging its way to me.. and in some cases some snuck out a while ago for some.

Even Torch and the Mad Marauders are only another week or so too.
(For some reason Torch is delayed some places).

Just something that crossed my mind as I was looking at the gallery and had a Tiger Paw next to me as I looked at the image of another one in the display. & Thought "I have that".

I think the very bright lights are throwing the camera a bit. making them look different. I don't think the Stinger's grey would look that washed out under most lighting conditions either.

There's no fine line, in most cases. There's a rather broad avenue with "vintage-style" on the one side, "vintage style with modern helmets and 60-year-old guns" on the other, and a small, spotty and inconsistent median between, onto which figures like Airborne and the SAW Viper fall.

Not in the least. The more vintage-styled figures look coherent, because they adhere to a specific design template, as opposed to figures like Grunt and Rock 'n Roll which are trying to exploit that template for recognition value while trying to "update" it by throwing in a bunch of anachronistic elements that don't gel with the design well at all, ending up with a finished product that's just kind of a mess.

Tomorrow. My guess is the stream that's supposed to hit at 8AM Pacific, no later than the Joe brand panel later in the afternoon. Having an empty runway diorama already at the Hasbro booth should mean they have a prototype with them that will get added sometime tomorrow or Friday morning as well.

Someone got a hold of the product list available at the SDCC booth. Once a Man Cobra Commander is a limit of 1.

Which just completely torpedoed my chances of my friend who's attending and who actually managed to win a time slot from being able to pick up 2 copies (one for him and one for myself).

I have no problem admitting that there are cases where a more "classic" design works better, but the sheer success of the line, including the HasLabs, with the majority being updated designs, completely debunks your argument. You're an overly vocal minority, and that's fine, too.
