Got Doc last week. Opened him up over the weekend. You know I actually like the vest on on him. Also it does kind of make sense seeing if you put the stretcher on his back it looks like it is strapped to him. In regards to the leaked pictures of the Rattler. I am liking what I am seeing.

Did a couple of small paint mods to Jinx. Removed her tats. Painted her chest/flesh colored areas red. Painted the black used on her ankles and tops of the shoes a dark red to match her secondary color. I may go back paint her forearm wraps and hands to match the dark red as well.
If y'all are interested I added the process and materials in the post below so I don't clog up the Classified thread with discussion. https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5796228 Don't forget the Cobra Trooper. I'm mega salty about that one lol |

Major Bludd is a good example of the ambiguity I have about Classified and how it is juxtaposed with the previous lines.
I can't deny that the Classified one evokes the character while actually improving his appearance over all. So I can't say they did anything wrong by doing that.. it is clearly Major Bludd and it clearly also a lot nicer version of him than the 1980's one. So that one is a win. I also don't really mind "that much" that the have a peculiar tendency to copy the Pursuit of Cobra / Anniversary era version of a character over the original as seen with the Techno-Viper and the Alley Viper especially, but again I can't really say the figures suffer horribly as a result of that choice.. they are still good figures. I don't think we should get to wedded just to the 1980's version of a character where the is in some cases a much newer version that contributes something of its own. there is a few rather nice "high numbered" Snake Eyes for example that would just look so darn nice in 1/12th scale. & what with them doing multiple versions of characters like Roadblock, I hope there is some space in the line for a bit more tactical take on Quick Kick for those of us who find his lack of boots embarrassing. Likewise I don't actually mind them sneaking in the occasional much later additions to the franchise.. especially when the fill a useful role, look cool or fill a niche in the story. For example I don't mind they utilising Hannibal for Classified even if he's a much later addition to the brand. In some cases I would even say that the original take on a figure isn't good enough.. but the concept the represent is worth further exploring. Take for example how 'everyone's' favourite Jungle Viper is the redesign but in other cases the redesign doesn't land as hard (i.e. The OG B.A.T.S. are still the best). So If they said (for example) that they liked the "idea" of a Swamp Viper but thought the current designs were not good enough and they wanted to do their own take... I'd cheer them on, as I'd be in complete agreement with a new take on an good idea that failed to land. Or a new take on the accessories and weapon load out of a character that looked nice - but had the bad luck to come out at a time where the weapons load-outs were generic frame re-uses. So I don't think as a rule we as fans or Hasbro as manufacture's should always just farm the nostalgia is they really genuinely and honestly think they can do a better job... (so long as they are careful) I wouldn't for example want them to do that with a much anticipated character like the Desert Scorpion : https://www.3djoes.com/desert-scorpion.html for example. But a "sensitive" update of this guy would be very welcome : https://www.3djoes.com/crimson-guard-commander.html Firefly is another good example the design is obviously one with potential (as you can tell from the card art) : https://www.3djoes.com/firefly-v3.html but the implementation of that design is garish as heck & missing paint. So that is perhaps another good example of some potential that can be unlocked with some care, for a design that otherwise might be one some might just go "yuck" and skip right past. Nostaligia farming is fine, even desirable in some cases and where they wander off into the weeds (like the did with Rock and Roll) they left plenty of room to address that with the Retro line too. |

I was surprised they didn't use a different buck for them. But I can't say I'm disappointed, with a dozen or so on order (was ordering in 2's and lost count lol). There're still a few opportunities down the road to go that route. Maybe a red face wrap with tan gear?

I lucked out and got in touch with Hasbro support early enough to get it cancelled. They really should have picked a less busy time in their schedule to update the site.

Tan gear, white gear, whatever gets us a proper old school trooper, I'll take it. I've just grown very tired of them sharing that CI mold.

I'll be 50 next week and the only Classified I've ever bought in a store was, ironically, Alley Viper, who I saw once and never again. I happened to be at Target very early on a Sunday for dogfood and they had a few.
Everything else has been BBTS, Pulse or Ebay. I still "hunt" with my son and find NECA, Marvel, Pops, MOTU and Star Wars, but never any Classifieds I'm searching for. |

Totally get it. Right now it is very challenging to collect multiple lines, especially Hasbro ones with how they are putting out the product.
For me, I have been just with the S7 Joe stuff and Classified so I get a little breathing room but that might change once the ReAction+ (o-rings) drop. I am praying I can weather the next 48 hours until my paycheck. I expect to be $1,000 in the hole by then. If it is worse than that tomorrow morning, I will have to divert money from savings. The saving grace is I have not opened anything yet. It is going to be like Christmas this weekend when I do. Oh, I’m praying Pulse does not release the Tiger Paw early. I should get mine from Target tomorrow and then will cancel my Pulse order. |

If they let you keep them and you want to part with Clutch for a reasonable price, I would love one to wear the Steel Brigade helmet.
