I have opened all 6 of the new retros and I had to use a utility knife to cut around the bottom of the bubble and it pulls off. That part was easy for me until I got to the file cards.

Once you get a puncture in the bubble, it was easy to trim it out to get the figure loose. Now the plastic inside that holds the figure and the accessories you need to work them out. Those were pretty stiff as well.

Slit the tape on the back bottom of the card to free the plastic tab that secures the bubble to the card back, then add two more slits to the bottom corners of the bubble and you can slide the interior plastic tray out.

Keep in mind SDCC has over 100,000+ attendees in what is not a very big convention center. Heck downtown SD is not very big. Lines are everywhere and cap extremely quickly, so even if the booth didn't have a lottery system, unless you are either first in the main floor door to jump in line or very lucky sometime during the day, you won't get in a line as they are capped in the first 10 minutes of the floor opening and only opened randomly throughout the day by the line keepers.

Sure you can try to hover around the line to hopefully jump in the line when it opens, but 1) it rarely succeeds, 2) you don't have room to hang out, and 3) you have to constantly move or be trampled and pushed by workers to keep moving.

Last year, I had won a lottery for a booth, but still had to get there first thing in the morning as the line would cap even with an assigned time. So even with a lottery win, you still couldn't get in line at your alloted time. Talking to booth workers lets you know a lot of things. Some booths open at the end of the day without appointments, so you can get exclusives even with out a lottery win.

Now that being said, if you go expecting to move around freely and effortlessly at SDCC, or you expect to get all the exclusives, you will be greatly disappointed. My wife and I go each year to get what we can, check out the amazing artists, go to interesting panels, and just try to enjoy ourselves in what for most is a very, very, very hectic and cramped forum.

What you bring in to the situation is what you will get out of it. There is tons of stuff to do outside of convention center. Spending all days in lines and/or the convention floor will drive anyone insane.

I do love the San Diego area and the weather, but the rumored move to Las Vegas is probably needed. The LV Convention center is 3 times bigger. There is plenty of hotels and restaurants, so you won't have to scramble to get a price gouged hotel or find a restaurant that isn't packed during lunch.

People were talking about figs/weapons etc being tough to get out and i would chuckle to myself peasants !!!! ive had literally no problem , sorry for laughing on the inside my tf trip/roadblock came and roadblocks handgun and roadblock himself felt like they were glued in along with tripwire his feet/legs didn't want to come out either, and mcleod literally slid right out of the plastic with no effort ..

Las Vegas comic con in the middle of July though? It's freaking 110 degrees there right now.

It was 115-120 there for like a week straight right after the 4th of July. I can't imagine them holding Comic Con in late July if it ever moves to Vegas. I've been in Vegas many times when it is still over 100 degrees after midnight.

Maybe they'd move it to May or October if it moves to Vegas, when it is not hot, or as hot. I know the convention and casinos are all air-conditioned, but 100K people walking around the Strip during the day coming to and from when it is potentially 115+ degrees just sounds like a nightmare.

I did at least notice the Hasbro lottery tickets closed at 5pm, but the show floor closes at 6. So I'm hoping that last hour is for lineups. I'll at least get to go to Preview Night, so hopefully I can get more info then. Hasbro didn't even have anything for Sunday times, so I'm really hoping Sunday is a lineup day.
