Good idea. I'm hoping we also get cartoon colors Stalker at some point. I'm assuming Hasbro is steering away from cartoon decos while Super7 is making their Ultimates, which are cartoon based. Maybe once Ultimates dries up, we'll start getting cartoon deco Classified figures.

As for the cartoon holding back GI Joe as a brand...how? While we're getting cartoon figures via Ultimates/Reactions, the cartoon isn't really pushed in other merchandise. It was definitely the largest exposure of the brand for a generation and will certainly be a mine to tap. But you may as well say the Marvel comics are an albatross. Frankly, the largest weight around the brand is the allegiance to RAH "accuracy." They're all limited arguments. The brand can reference all histories and iterations its had. But it should also always be creating something new.

I'd like to see Classified start making some original characters and designs. Just like every era has done. We're seeing it with the Wolf Spider and Mole Rat. I'd like to see that continue and some more new takes on main characters. For instance, I'm hoping the next Duke they make is an all-new design. At the very least, the slight updates and adding of new elements to classic designs seems like a good way to tap into nostalgia and instant character recognition but push it forward with modernization. There's all kinds of fans though that want slightly different things. Let's just not have it purely RAH accurate. Nudge it forward a bit.

No it doesn't that is why that wasn't a serious comment as much as a comment on some people liking to over-react to something like a small piece of date like that poster.

That said if they want to do a DEMON as the Haslab in 2026 I will be torn.. as I really think the tiers would be great for it, but I so want a Moray Hydrofoil and I hope the fandom collective consciousness can poke Hasbro in that direction for 2026.

A Demon would be pretty damn cool! Wouldn't be too bad from a display perspective either, probably shelf friendly to a degree.

100% true. Raven was presented as a possibility during the FG as a Tier for the Rattler. My opinion was a Strato-Viper didn't make a whole lot of sense with the Rattler. Others in the Group felt that same way. I stated I'd rather have a Pilot or Gunner Baroness that was entirely new. A head that used a swappable Sunbow style helmet (with a section of hair) and full hair section.

It's important to remember none of the Tiers or special features are were in stone. That's the entire point of the Focus Groups. To gauge fan interest. We only know for certain that the presentations ALL had some similar options. Which stand to reason that those are things we WILL get.

I wasn't calling the cartoon an albatross and I've long argued that the comic has been an albatross. Joe could benefit from embracing more of the "flexibility" of the Sunbow cartoon.

The comic was a big success and an important part of the brand, but the inability of the comic to be left in the eighties has hurt the brand's growth in my opinion. A large segment of the fandom just wants joe to be the comic and we see that every time new fiction happens.
