If I'm not mistaken we didn't start using this year's until like the last week of December, the current year's host hands off the next to someone in line. It's no surprise that there's complaints when someone doesn't follow the established courtesies.

Yeah these threads aren't for releases in a year but just classified conversation during the calendar year.

Hell, we don't even really need different threads each year.
