Emily posted this on her Instagram today. While it's clearly a result of the Skystrikers going up on BBTS, she doesn't address it directly so it's hard for me to parse what she's trying to say.

"A clarification about some HasLab questions I’ve seen today.

Emily note to preface: to us, HasLabs are dream items. They are a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of toy history and a product that will never be repeated in that form. It’s important to us that this is honored as part of the HasLab story.

Now, this is all information that has been stated before, but I have collected it here for ease of access:

- In countries that have Hasbro Pulse, Hasbro Pulse is the only authorized seller of HasLab items. Countries without Hasbro Pulse can choose one retailer to take orders over the course of the campaign.
- No orders against HasLabs can be placed after the campaign (approximately 45 days in length) closes.
- We only manufacture the number of HasLabs that are ordered by fans, plus a small additional number to cover any consumer care related needs that are used directly by Hasbro.
- Backing a HasLab during its campaign is the ONLY way to get that product. The same item will never be offered as an exclusive / mainline item later down the road.
- Individual consumers can purchase up to five HasLabs via their Hasbro Pulse account.
- During the funding window is your only opportunity to purchase a HasLab directly from Hasbro. All other sales are considered second hand marketplace.

Maybe BBTS just bought some on Ebay but then you'd think Emily could just say "Wherever they got them it wasn't from Hasbro". So I'm not sure what to think.

BBTS didn't buy dozens of them on eBay.

They got these from Hasbro. I would assume during the campaign, but the timing is strange.

Emily might have been trying to imply the BBTS didn't make an order for them from Hasbro but instead preordered them like everyone else and are selling them as secondary market like anyone else selling them.

Except, in that case, BBTS is limited to 5. Unless BBTS has at least 5 different Pulse accounts, which seems a little shady for a big retailer.

Part of good PR is maintaining trust with the public. The statement she shares doesn't answer any questions about the how and why of BBTS getting the Skystrikers.

Granted, we're not necessarily owed a single response about how and why BBTS acquired these, but in a case like this, it's almost better if no statement was issued at all instead of something that is clearly a result of it but does nothing to address the questions about it.

Nothing is answered and the corporate doublespeak erodes public trust that she's a good faith liaison between the company and the community.

It's not quite as catastrophic as the previous sentence would lead you to believe, but reading it doesn't really provide an iota of new information - so why issue a statement that says nothing at all?

EDIT: Happy to be wrong, but do any of y'all see anything shared in that post that gives us new information we did not know well before the events of today?

I long ago stopped watching all livestreams and following anything similar for this very reason. Why keep misleading us? That's been the MO of Joe's team for a long time, probably through no fault of their own. But it drives me nuts.

I could have had all my friends buy 5 for me if I wanted to sell a bunch. That's not shady at all. It's not taking them out of the hands of other collectors like buying up all the stock in a store is.

I would be beyond shocked if BBTS had dozens of accounts at HasbroPulse.

You have any proof of this? Or any proof that BBTS bought a bunch direct from Hasbro and Emily was lying?
