I think nostalgia has a lot to do with it. It's what a lot of us grew up with. Most of the 80's ARAH anyway were well-done and didn't go too crazy with wacky proportions and colors that came later.

(Yeah, yeah, Transformer + O-Rings is a thing, but applauding for that is like cheering on your drunk uncle for one week of sobriety; sure, he deserves it, but there's a lot of pity packed in there, too.)

Have y'all been to a Joefest? The 2023 show was very, very O-ring heavy. A lot of us have huge, 35+ year investments at this point in O-ring, and less of us than you think dumped our stuff somewhere along the way.
ME and Classified collectors think they are very loud and influential when the truth is that the O-ring collectors are a lot quieter but also wield deep pockets for one specific thing. We are here despite the ME line running out of steam, and will be here when the 6" line runs out of steam. The only failed O-ring kickstarter was Easy Kill 9, and that was universally shat on by most O-ring collectors for being a low-effort cash grab.

Would anyone want to split up one of these if I order one? I don't want the figures, but I'm interested in the rest of the set. Shipping the figures out wouldn't cost much compared to shipping the vehicles.

I don't get ReAction, TBH- aside from some deep cuts and troop options, everything there has been done before, and better. There are a multitude of reasons why G.I. Joe supplanted Star Wars as the #1 3.75" line back in the day, but the pose-ability was a huge part of it. Were it not for o-ring, that Mothership would hold no interest for me.

I don't get S7 ReAction either due to their lack of articulation and price point. GI Joe was never a 5 points of articulation toy, even in the 60s. I'm sure that has something to do with their ability to sit properly in vehicles. For $20 at least give them knee and elbow joints. Star Wars TVC are highly detailed and articulated for $3 less.

It is overlooked that when S7 acquired the license they intended to do cartoon and comic accurate o-rings but Hasbro told them no at the last minute (probably to make the o-ring line that they have produced very little from to this point).
