I don't see why anyone cares. These are toys. They should be accessible. I backed a Skystriker and it's the best toy that I've bought in years. I'm glad a few other people got a chance to get one from BBTS and hope they enjoy it as much as I do mine.

I guess I'm kind of the opposite of you in some ways (and it's one reason I don't post very much here any more). Why don't more people care when they are repeatedly given false information? The number of times that Hasbro's PR people have said something that is subsequently (and sometimes almost immediately) contradicted is staggering. And yet many continue to cheer on the message deliverers like they are celebrities.

In the end, BBTS getting ~100 Skystrikers and selling them doesn't seem important. But I would say the messaging around this and other small little things adds up to something more. But that's just me.

I agree, but the person who posted a quasi-conspiracy about us being given false numbers - they're obvious wrong, but the underlying logic has a kernel of sense to it.

Hasbro makes a ton more profit at 17,999 sold than 18,000 sold. We were awfully bloody close to 18,000, and if it turns out that retailers like BBTS got a supplementary order (so that the total units moved ended up being *above* 18,000), that turbo sucks for consumers like us, who did not get Ketchup and Mustard.

But I also get where jscott is coming from - if you're selling an exclusive, except it's actually exclusive with an asterisk, then it's not really an exclusive.

All in all, it really hurt matters that Emily put up a statement on social media that did not address a single thing of substance. She's typically clear and reliable when she does have something to say (including telling us that O-Rings are dead again, booooooooooo) that this milquetoast fence-sitting statement led to further confusion and distrust.

But I agree yet still with those who see 2-3 days of BBTS selling a meager about of Haslab stock probably is not worth that much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I guess I agree with everyone, in short. Shrug.

I don't understand why these folks don't get that whatever Hasbro made as extra for themselves to deal with returns and damaged product is overhead cost and those units wouldn't be counted toward the goal because it's Hasbro footing that bill.

Some people around here have absolutely no clue how the cost of doing business works.

Simple solution going forward: Fund a Haslab if you want it. Extras MIGHT be hitting BBTS in the future, but don't count on it. How long were the Skystrikers up on BBTS, like two or three days? They still went pretty fast. This doesn't really change anything.

According to Pulse, after cancelations they ended up selling 15,035. Ripcord unlocked at 16,000 so we're lucky we were able to get him.

I've never understood what the big deal is about exclusive whatever.

I get crowdfunding a big thing to see it happen, but seriously, it's just toys and whatever meager profit anyone gets from selling off the exclusive-ness is just piss in the ocean in the grand scheme of things.

It just smacks of more bad investors being petty about petty shit because they don't understand actual investing.

So some people got to have these at an only slightly inflated price above retail, then good for them, and I'm glad if it brought them joy.

I seriously wonder how many people are left on this board who remember the child that brought them here. It's fun to share your toys.

There's only one way I could see people genuinely being bothered over this, if BBTS was selling these for MSRP with huge stock. I don't know how or where they got these from but it's no different from other 3rd parties selling them for profit.
