Buying toys to make a profit is a BAD idea.
My dad did it and it worked out extremely well (was pulling in thousands at train and toy shows). I figured during college I'd do that to get extra bucks... Yeah, I'm stuck with tens of thousands of dollars of toys I can't sell for 10% of what I paid for a few decades now. Don't do it. |

I do find it insane that people with no savings, living paycheck to paycheck, are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars a month on toys. I've had people tell me they got hit with an unexpected car repair bill and have to cancel a wave of pre-orders that month to compensate. That tells me they have zero savings, no cushion whatsoever to absorb whatever life throws at them. A very dangerous way to live, especially if you have a family to provide for. I think the FOMO with toy collecting leads to some really irresponsible behavior. Not our business to judge really, but it's a head scratcher for me. Why not take a month off buying stuff, or buy just a little, to build up a little savings?
Don't get me started on those pay in 4 installment plans, either. A friend of mine has done so many of those simultaneously he's way in over his head. Sheesh. |

I. Surprised there isn't more of a reaction to this.
So a mega corporation launches a crowdfund project and gives more in the package based on how many it sells. It says it will not be available any other way and gives a final count. It then sells stock to an Etailer who sells it for the same price undercutting the secondary market and does t count those toward the total ordered? They were 800 away from u locking the last tier. O on ehas any idea how many were being sold through said etailer or if there were any others sold to anyone else. They have zero oversight, none. If they hit 18000 they would have had to ship ketchup and mustard. Gi en their pricing for retro figures that would have been an additional $648000 in retail value. But we have to take their word that they are still below the 18k tier? |

Things are being sold under the guise of special exclusives and priced to reflect it, only to pop up at other US retailers which makes them...not exclusives? Apparently they're overproducing certain things and breaking exclusivity rules to unload it. Last edited by Trigger2K; 09-18-2023 at 01:19 AM.. |

BBts has sold the Razorcrest for 800 bucks (eewwww)
Sentinel for 680!!!! Galactus 550 was actually the closest to the Haslab price before Skystriker at 300 so this situation is unqieu.

BBTS and EE also have Hasbro's "SDCC exclusives". Apparently that doesn't mean much either.

"A clarification about some HasLab questions I’ve seen today.
Emily note to preface: to us, HasLabs are dream items. They are a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of toy history and a product that will never be repeated in that form. It’s important to us that this is honored as part of the HasLab story. Now, this is all information that has been stated before, but I have collected it here for ease of access: - In countries that have Hasbro Pulse, Hasbro Pulse is the only authorized seller of HasLab items. Countries without Hasbro Pulse can choose one retailer to take orders over the course of the campaign. - No orders against HasLabs can be placed after the campaign (approximately 45 days in length) closes. - We only manufacture the number of HasLabs that are ordered by fans, plus a small additional number to cover any consumer care related needs that are used directly by Hasbro. - Backing a HasLab during its campaign is the ONLY way to get that product. The same item will never be offered as an exclusive / mainline item later down the road. - Individual consumers can purchase up to five HasLabs via their Hasbro Pulse account. Once they purchase those up to five HasLabs per account, they become personal property and Hasbro cannot control what happens with them or if/where they may end up sold in the future. - During the funding window is your only opportunity to purchase a HasLab directly from Hasbro. All other sales are considered second hand marketplace. If you have any other questions that you are curious about, please post them in the comments and I’ll answer them if I’m able." I don't see how this clears up how many BBTS has. |
