Haslabs are like $200-700, it's not a huge amount of money.

If your income/saving habits/credit is bad enough to where you can't afford even that much at short notice, not even on a credit card (that would net you extra days after the campaign closes to pay if off completely, by the way), maybe you shouldn't be buying expensive toys.

These are fair thoughts. I don't agree with all of them (personally), but I can see how someone would reasonably think any or all of the above. Order now, pay later (and maybe even cancel if you like) is definitely a huge appeal. "Why back this when I can buy from BBTS in 22 months?" may reasonably be concluded.

The only counterpoints are that (a) there's no guarantee of stock (a) at all or (b) levels. We've all seen BBTS get some old sock out of the blue and it disappears within minutes. As a collector I wouldn't want to take that chance with a HasLab, again just personally.

Also it's $70 more than the original cost, a roughly 30% hike. It's a marshmallow test to be sure, but again just IMO, most folks would prefer to pay the cheaper rate.

So maybe it has some effect on willingness to back a HasLab - but the worst case scenario is probably marginally at most.

Yeah I don't get the fuss at all. Having seen the Razor Crest on bits, this was expected. The Razor Crest was up right when the Haslab ended, so if anything this is overdue.

I have a short fuse for the perspective of "I'm suggesting that I engage in obvious financial irresponsibility but still complain I can't afford things."

People posting words that evade basic common money sense deserve to have their suggested behavior criticized harshly.

Well, when you collect multiple lines Haslabs become more difficult to afford. Especially if the lines you collect ALL have a Haslab!

As long as he's not in danger of becoming homeless, who cares. Not everyone who collects this stuff is well off, although that helps. Who knows, maybe some people who buy 5-10 of every army builder are living paycheck to paycheck and racking up credit cards.

Complaining about the problem comes across as crass at that point though. His suggestion that he would try to just gather cash in the timespan of a Haslab campaign because it appeared is absurd in both concept and principle, as if he's suggesting he knows ahead of time that he would make to make this kind of bad decision. If he can't figure out that buying toys in a state of zero cash reserves is a problem enough to complain about it publicly, then I figure I'm doing him a favor by spelling out the what and the why of the problem for him.

I don't understand the issue, the two or three dozen Skystrikers BBTS got won't hurt the 3rd parties selling this or upcoming Haslabs.
