I'm disappointed to hear hunmarine's feedback. But from what I saw in the trailers I wasn't expecting more than what is essentially the TMNT or X-Men arcade games with subbed in Joe characters. This feedback reinforces that, though at the very minimum I would expect responsive and consistent controls. From that POV the price seems really steep.

I played this game over the weekend and beat it. I played it on 'Hard' mode and, overall, I liked the game but more because it's a new GI Joe game. With that, let's get onto what I think.
I agree with a lot of what Hunmarine says...it's not complete. I can stun-lock enemies (including bosses) pretty easily (I was Snake Eyes). But those damn ninja vipers can do the exact same thing. Some enemies just stand there and do nothing, and others are actually quite annoying (again, ninja vipers). hit boxes seem off for larger enemies. Bosses are fun to look at but not hard at all. That said, the final boss has multiple parts and I did have some difficulty getting through the final stage and completing the game. I used a "cheat" (which you can buy) but even then it was hard to get through the final game on hard mode. Also disappointed in the unlockables (purchased via floppy disks that enemies drop). Was also hoping for more alternative costumes, which is absent. Overall, on the 5 star scale, I'm giving this a 2.5. Probably isn't worth it's retail price right now. It plays more like a 10-15 dollar game. |

Just watched a playthrough video, according to the game's end credit roll:
MAPLE LEAF GAMES 1 Lead Designer 4 Programmers 3 Artists I'm still looking forward to getting this and beating it! I really want to play it now, but I'm probably going to wait it out until it's out on Xbox Live.

Dang, was expecting a Shredder's Revenge style game. This seems like it's also a love letter to fans, but with way less.
That's a shame. Personally, I'm surprised that Hasbro would let such a project come out like these reviews are saying. Especially since everyone knows it's immediately gonna be compared to Shredder's Revenge and the latest Final Fight. |

IDK.
I had a blast. Me and my friends had a blast. It's not perfect, but for $20, you can easily do worse for a night with a few beers, chips and tunes. They clearly care about the game, and are working on DLC even now, and have been hotfixing it repeatedly since launch. |

I forgot I bought this game on release day. I haven't played it at all yet. I'll try to spend some time playing it this weekend and see what I think.

Especially for Hasbro. War for Cybertron is the only success I can think of off the top of my head. Marvel does a decent job and DC with the Arkham games, but usually license based games are trash. |

Well, Hasbro let Operation Blackout be released. In the end they're just the licensor. They're just happy to get paid for their IP.
