ones i've actually bought within he last couple of years are usually 1:18 scaleish motorcycle transformers and i need the instructions to transform them. i even collect the color variations of road rocket; and i still need instructions.

megatron hiss was a pain in the ass not only because my son was cracking the whip to get it done faster, but the way the cockpit is just a big stupid hump facing backwards and it's "finished" threw me off.

im not a dumb dumb and can generally figure stuff out, but man. throw that in the pile of transformers being a pain in the ass toy line for kids to collect.

I can figure things out better than most, I reckon, and can usually "see" what goes where and how. It's making the toy do those things that often hangs me up. Hinges don't bend smoothly, tabs don't tab, alignments don't align, something is always hanging up...it's just an excercise in frustration I'd rather not repeat multiple times, so mine tend to get transformed once and stay in that mode.

yeah megatron is robot mode right now tossed in a bin. my motorcycles are in car mode for space chucked in my gijoe hq - where i chuck miscellaneous purchased oring gijoes.

My son's big into Transformers right now, but most of what he has are the smaller, moderately-priced items from the lower tiers, which generally aren't too complicated. I bought him a Thunder Machine Soundwave last Christmas. Although he plays with it, he leaves it in robot mode 100% of the time.
