Yeah, at first glance it really doesn't seem like it would make a difference. But when you start to pose these figures with the newer arm articulation you realize it's a step down from what we had before.

I am wondering why they decided to change it though?

Looks great! I actually decided to cancel my Pulse Retro CG and go with the boxed on BBTS. As much as I love the vintage art, something about the boxed CG just looks, well, perfect.

I appreciate the comparison pics of the mainline vs retro cardback CG's. I really like the mainline CG more. The deeper red, the black mask all look better to me IMO.

Classified as a whole skews slightly desaturated, so the mainline ones look like they'll fit in a bit better.

If they ever do a brighter blue Trooper / Officer, then the Retro ones will go better with those I suspect. And they'll probably look better with a figure like Sarge.
