It's definitely deliberate. The odds of that one particular head being left off the render of that one particular figure are remote. The 4" version of the character includes the Red Shadows head, but isn't packed with it on the body deliberately. The body of that 4" figure isn't as close a match to the original Red Shadows as this 6" version is, so they're probably just playing it safe, to avoid customer confusion, which could lead to legal problems.
And before anyone brings up Roboskull, Roboskull LLC does not "own" the original Red Shadows, just like Bobby Vala doesn't own the original Action Force. It's Hasbro that would be the offended party here. And they're pretty lax. But I wouldn't be shocked if Bill tossed in the red head as a separate, free inclusion. He tooled that head up for a reason, hopefully not simply to tease people. He said the omission is deliberate. He said to keep your eyes on future waves if you want it. He said that next wave will feature werewolves and zombies. I think with BBTS financing this -- it's the first non-crowdfunded FMF release and BBTS is bankrolling it -- that we'll see wave 2 up for order in less than a year. I also think it's important that this doesn't have Eagle Force branding. I'm guessing Bill owns the original characters in the FMF line and this doesn't have any licensing costs. I'm hoping we get Count Ironmoon, Crimson Moon Legionnaire, and Goregills in the next wave. Count Ironmoon and Crimson Legionnaire werewolves in 4" and were essentially designed so that if you swap their heads, you get Baron Ironblood and Black Major. And Count Ironmoon comes with an extra Red Shadows-style helmet in red in 4". I think Count Ironmoon and Crimson Legionnaire are likely to be the werewolves mentioned in wave 2. Between those (with parts swapping) and Skeletron's 6" figures, including their Skeletron robot and pilots, we'd have a pretty full Red Shadows lineup. That would basically just leave Mutons, Red Jackal (Destro repaint), Red Laser (Cobra Commander repaint), and Red Torches (Eco Force Flint redeco). Of these, I think the Mutons are the only one a third party could do as it's essentially just a red diving suit with accessories to make it a "robot". |

Start getting the dimes out of the piggy bank. It is so close now that I will likely not have a good night of sleep until I make the announcement.

I'm VERY familiar with that feeling. Of course, the nail-biting nervousness of reader critique (I love the bad just as much as the good) is an even bigger insomnia monster, F5-ing like a crackhead waiting for feedback. lol

Oh, this is good to know. Just pre-ordered both of them to do exactly this.

This looks really cool.
Interesting twist of a story. Public domain characters. The comics are beautiful. I love the art style and presenting them as sort of one sheet bios is very clever and easy for us fans to absorb. Hellboy sort of vibe. The toys look pretty nice. Not overly stylized with some great realistic detail contrasting the more supernatural elements. The exaggeration on some of the helmets, like the one with the skull (sleep walker) is really fun. Price isn't great though. Not sure I'd buy a $37 figure but I'm mostly a 4" collector so not the target audience. I do really like the Delta Red and Sleep Walker.

I had the same thought, but then I realized that if you compare them to Hasbro's recent Classified Kamakura the price is fantastic!

These look awesome. I was not gonna get them initially because I already get too much and they’re expensive. But damn it, they just look too cool and I got excited when I heard they were gonna do some werewolves too.
