They have to appease Disney so product needs to be out when Disney wants it out. There has been zero issue getting out Retro Indy figures a couple months before the new film. I bet the other Indy stuff is out before then, too.

Marvel movie figures are almost always early or near the movie, save for outside factors ie movie delays that wrecked the Black Widow wave and likely will have the Ant-Man & Wasp wave show up and go right to clearance (why would Target and Walmart care to put on pegs figures in August from a movie that flopped in March?).

Star Wars is Star Wars - it shows up on or near time or it doesn't. Disney doesn't seem to care, LFL sure doesn't, and neither does Hasbro. It either shows up and sells or it will rot on the peg until it sells.

Transformers you can bet is a priority. Plus they and Takara Tomy work together on them, right? So they probably have to somewhat coordinate a specific release schedule to have them in Japan and Europe/U.S. decently near each other, right?

It's not as if Hasbro is instantly selling out of their non-limited Classified products anymore, despite the way they throttle preorders to create that impression. We've seen a lot of stale product and discounting going on to clear inventory recently. Maybe pushing more product to retail when you can't even sell the product you already have there isn't the right thing to do if you're Hasbro.

I'm not 100% sold on the "slow boat" theory. Are Canadian retailers getting their new product from someone other than Hasbro?

For the rest of it, none of this is worth being personally offended over. No one is forcing us to watch livestreams, pay attention to brand managers, or track every morsel of news on hisstank. If it feels bad, stop.

No, it goes up for bid periodically.

Last time it went up for bid, Hasbro warned that they had probably overpaid and that their margins would be small.

This is the point so many have a hard time understanding. Of course, the Disney licenses will get priority. That's just common sense. Transformers will as well, because, media tie-ins aside, that's Hasbro's own license to print money. Joe's low man on the totem, despite the HasLab success.
