You can't judge Transformers retro packaging by this sub-line. Until about a year ago, the retro transformers were "Vintage G1" rereleases that were almost 100% accurate to the original 1980s toys, including the packaging. See this page on TFwiki: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Vintage

The current "retro" line, pictured in N30V3N0M's post, is a cartoon redeco paint job for original G1 toys with new packaging. The only comparable GI Joe release is the Duke & Cobra Commander o-ring 2-pack, with Sunbow paint jobs.

My pure, unsubstantiated speculation is that Hasbro would prefer they be distributed the same way the Star Wars and Marvel releases are sold. Or at the very least as Fan Channel releases. So it wouldn't be a case of Walmart not wanting them, but of Hasbro wanting more retailers to sell them.

Or maybe Walmart sees them sitting on the pegs and really doesn't want them. By now Hasbro knows they can do a better job with these. The line was planned a long time ago and Hasbro could take the opportunity to course-correct now.

Or we'll just never see them again (I doubt this).

They need to sort out the distribution first... they basicly said Mind Bender is on a slow boat from china as they are too cheap to get them here faster lol...

With the waves being all over the place like Retro SS being out in EU but nowhere else something odd is going on. Then add in the UK getting stuff alot earlier than the US instead of the same time give or take a few weeks.

Setting up pre-orders for 6 months away isn't a great feeling lol.
