so _IF_ HASBRO were to all of a sudden start frontloading their waves with later years, it's already at a point where it would be extremely apparent to the customer base.

so far they haven't. personally don't think they will either. imagine it's 2025 and blowtorch, airtight & footloose are all still missing (don't think that would go over well at all)

Even more to your point...they're already re-releasing characters. Retro versions, alt colors like Tiger Force, etc. There's plenty of ways for them to drag the line out without stalling on '82-'87 characters. Even after they release all the '82 guys, for example, I'm sure we'll get "retro" versions of them in matching original uniforms at some point, plenty of people in this thread have already asked for redone versions of Breaker, RnR, Grunt, Hawk, etc.

Personally, I'm glad they didn't frontload it with early characters like that, because I'm a big fan of later years. '88 onward was my Joe years, and I'm glad they've given some of us "younger" fans things like Alley Viper, Shockwave, Range Viper, Big Ben, etc. I'm glad they have post-ARAH characters like Helix and Kamakura as well, even if those don't appeal to me as much. Get as many people interested in the line as possible, IMO, and keep the brand alive, don't just try to get 80's kids to rebuy all their old toys.
