You're looking at things through a rational lens, when the people who could cause a headache for Hasbro are anything but rational. The parents groups who forced Toys R Us to pull Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and forced NECA to pull their Django Unchained figures entirely didn't collect those lines and couldn't care less that they were in aisles clearly marked collectibles and weren't marketed toward children. Some of them are probably the same people who made a huge stink when some Targets removed the words "Boys toys" and "Girls toys" from aisles. They don't give a shit about nuance. They just want things to be the way they want them, and they don't want other people to see things they don't like. Also, while most people on these boards know that the red star is defunct iconography, the fact is a sizeable number of Americans don't know that. A lot of Americans have no idea what the flag of the Russian Federation looks like, and an almost surprising number still thinks Russia uses that red star (I've seen at least four in my facebook feed in the last two years).
Hasbro doesn't like controversy. Most toy companies don't.

From time to time the odd "MEGO" Django Unchained figures still pop up at a couple of my local Targets. Were these useful idiots really that successful? And that's after they all warmed hard, went on clearance, then eventually disappeared. The first I heard of the recall was from people here. I certainly didn't see anything that reflected it in the toy/collector aisles, and I live in a VERY liberal area.

Amazon delayed the Ripper I was scheduled to receive today but I got a retro Destro from Walmart with no sustained damage to his filecard. Looking forward to seeing some of the characters from ARAH #301 make the jump to Classified. We need an eyepatch-wearing female Ciegie. 'Nuff said.

I just cracked open my boxes of 7 Crimson Alley Vipers and 3 Mole Rats. By the time I realized I had two batches of CAVs on preorder they were already on the way, so I guess I've got a little squad to work with.

I just gotta figure out where to put all these dudes, though.
