Speaking of Tunnel Rat and his gear, for my display I chose to ditch the huge machine gun and give him the stock-less SMG that comes with Standard Outback. This type of compact weapon seems appropriate for Tunnel Rat.

Since I can only have one version of a character on the main shelf at once, I've chosen Tiger Force Outback as my definitive Outback.

Snow Job and Tunnel Rat showed up on consecutive days and I honestly can’t decide which one is cooler (I mean, Snow Job, obviously). They’re both awesome. I was never a huge fan of TR, but he really is rad. His gear; albeit gummy; all fits onto him nicely and he’s definitely loaded. Snow Job gets up into the top figure conversation for me. All that said, I still can’t get over the Trubble Bubbles. Damn good JOE month.

It's going to be really difficult to pick a top figure of the year for me when all is said and done come December.

Shipwreck and Torpedo were neck and neck, but now Snow Job may have dethroned both of them. We've gotten some absolutely awesome Cobras this year, but we've gotten even better Joes in my opinion.

2022 seemed like it couldn't be topped, then 2023 came and it has already surpassed 2022 (in my eyes, and 2022 was incredible). And we still have Firefly, Low-Light, Tunnel Rat, Grunt, the Range-Viper, Big Ben, the Mole Rat, Shooter, the Crimson Alley Viper, the Crimson Viper, Wolf Spider, Shadow Tracker, the Steel BRIGADE 2-pack, retro Cobra Commander, the HISS, the HISS Crew and the 788 Fire team all still coming this year. It's even remotely possible we could see Wave 14 ship out ate December this year with the pre-orders going up this Friday and considering the last 2 waves only took about 13-14 weeks from pre-order to ship dates (Wave 12 was March pre-orders with June shipments, Wave 13 was June pre-orders with September shipments), 13-14 weeks from this week is the last week of December. Makes me insanely excited to see what Classified is going to give us in 2024!

Got back from work to find Snow Job had arrived from Pulse.

Just to add to what others have already said - Snow Job is pretty much perfect. All joints worked straight out of the box (no hot water required) and the figure poses really well, both the sculpt and the paint are great, none of the accessories were bent and they feel noticeably less gummy compared to the guns that came with other recent figures.

Also feels like it is something entirely ‘new’ as there is no significant re-use (don’t have Snow serpent yet) and he looks totally unique compared to the other Joes on the shelf.
