Interesting post on the KS comments:
Malcham ZidekCreator about 1 hour ago Good question. Yes, we have two other baddies in the campaign and some concept work for each of them will appear, via updates, over the course of the campaign. A lady vampire and a guy lycanthrope.

Okay, I upped my pledge to 36 figures.. I really want to see this one succeed as a zombie fan, it's also my first Kickstarter as I missed out on the others.

i wouldnt get too incredibly excited about this one. not as a negative against the creator, but more from my own gut feeling, he's pretty inexperienced and rushed to do this kickstarter without answering important questions in the campaign or having 3d models to show to get more backers. the original date was the 22nd, then the 18th, and then he opened it on the 14th - right out of no where.
im not entirely confident about the answer about the factory given how much trouble they seem to give creators. other campaigns took a LONG time before they opened it up to kickstarter and part of that was securing a factory, getting some models and prototypes. none of which he has. he only mentioned one guy doing his 3d modeling and he's not done with his first figure model for it. i have all in 12, but im thinking it wont get past the 4 figure mark if we're lucky and will probably drop down to 4 at that point. i'd rather lose out on that much than the 325 something i'd be looking at with my current pledge. i wish he waited a while longer and got things squared away. we'd be in a better place and i'd be more confident in it's success/actually being completed from the factory. |

I know this appears rushed out and that may account for the relatively low turnout so far, but he has said that a prototype is coming and should be ready by mid campaign.

I don't have any comments on this being related to Operation Recall..
I just don't like the concepts or designs of this campaign. And I kinda doubt it will fund - mostly because of the designs, but also because of O-ring burnout. Like I went all in on both LongBow and Operation Recall... and I wouldn't have backed LongBow at all if I knew about Operation Recall beforehand. |

yeah but he should have some prototype at the very least at the start of the campaign. it took longbow what felt like a year from prototype to kickstarter. recall, same thing. this guy, out of no where, and here's a kickstarter within a week of announcing he has a product line. very rushed.

I like the story he's come up with for this property. It sounds pretty well thought-out. I dig the idea that the rise of the undead would trigger a political crisis around the world, and private military contractors have to work in secret to clean up cities as governments debate whether the undead have rights. That's a great concept.
However, I'm not sure that it really fits with a retro o-ring style of action figure. I think it would work better with a modern, hyper-articulated, hyper-detailed type of figure (and I say that as someone who only collects o-rings). I'm also tapped out on resources after Longbow and Recall. I'm going to have to sit this one out, but I'll watch it with interest to see how it develops. |
