Totally agree. I biggest issue with the Snake Eyes movie was how unlikable they made Snake Eyes right from the start. He's a guy looking for revenge and is willing to throw anyone under the bus to get what he wants, even if it means ruining other people's lives. What an awful take on the character and his "redemption" arc really didn't make up for all the harm/death he caused. I guess the silver lining is that the movie didn't do well and so most likely we'll never see a continuation of this awful story but I guess the bad news is that we may never see GI Joe on the big screen again. It's a damn shame because they assembled a really good cast for the movie but the script was just awful.

It's like they had to make him some gritty anti-hero.
Storm Shadow is the one obsessed with revenge. Snake-Eyes is always heroic even if it's one dimensional. And it's not because if you can write you can write and make him heroic while not one note. |

They could have definitely updated it to Afghanistan or Iraq in place of Vietnam for Snake Eyes, Tommy, and Stalker in a unit and Snake Eyes saving Tommy's life. Plus, it would have been cool to see Tommy bring out a compound bow and taking out some insurgents. Could have more or less follow the plot of the original comic with Snake Eyes family dying in a car accident on the day he returns home from deployment. Then with no family and unsure of what to do next, accepts Tommy's invitation to Japan and trains to join the Arashikage. None of this magical meteorite and what not.

Some things were definitely odd choices. Like why the new character of Akiko at all when you have Jinx? Is she there to be somebody's love interest or something?

If given a chance, Andrew should come back as Storm Shadow again just so he won't only be associated with the stinker GI Joe movie, but possibly a good GI Joe movie as well. Then try for a best 2 out of 3.

I kinda liked the Kenta character especially in the samurai outfit when he was maniacally using the stone to blast people in the Arashikage raid as well as his first test blast on his own henchman. |

The early speculation talk was make a new throw away character to be killed off and not kill off Jinx.

Honestly, if they were going to draw inspiration from the Wolverine or rip it off, they should've gotten James Mangold the director of the Wolverine to direct it. Undoubtedly, he could've made a better version of the movie.
