I need to watch the DIC cartoon series. I don't think I have ever watched it save for maybe 2 or 3 episodes back when it was still on tv then.
I know I have always heard it's not the greatest, but going in with lowered expectations, maybe it won't be all that bad?

It had a few jems, very very few. But yeah, it's not so good. But so was everything else in the late 80's and early 90's. It's entertaining atleast, and hey you get to see those later toys in action. Probably the best episode was the one with Ambush and the female Range Viper, still wish we had a figure of her. Maybe Super7 will get around to it soon.
Kind of a shame those 2 years of Joe never got to be showcased in the cartoon. Other than the movie and the animated Sunbow tv ads from those years, most of those characters never got to be seen in animated form.

The film is a "diet" version of what was originally intended. The scale was a considerably grander one, with more of everything that made that movie good. If you can find the script for download (it's been published in book format too), it's definitely worth the read.
