I figure Hasbro carefully planned the unlocks out to increase perceived value while maintaining the profit margin they wanted to achieve.

Yes, it wasn't funding so they tried a more enticing stretch goal. Why would a company like hasbro not use the stretch goals to their advantage if it looks like it will miss a goal hasbro wants it to reach?

Your post was defending another which was insinuating the canopy in the retro pack was a quick pivot due to fan reaction. It wasn't.

I never said anything about fan reaction nor defended any position on a canopy. I didn't even mention a canopy or fan reaction. You mentioned Hasbro can't just pivot on stretch goals. I asked what would stop them. Its just a cg model.

That's not at all what I said. Now who's pivoting? Follow the quote chain of your post and you'll see what you were responding to.

Quote:
You can keep a lumbering, non-survivable aircraft that has been disproportionately responsible for frat incidents because people like that it has a big gun that goes brrrrt. It is as useful in a peer conflict as the Cobra Pogo would be. Happy to continue this elsewhere, as I'm sure most people in the board would rather discuss classic canopy versus new version rather than watch this GI back and forth.
It is very much more survivable in the CAS mission than the single engine F-35. I thought you would bring up others, first being the wing renewal program, as strikes against the A-10 but citing the airframe as being responsible for fratricide is like blaming the hammer for smashing a thumb. I agree this is not the place to discuss this. Plus, I don't think you are a person who has their ERB or ORB on the back of their POV. But if there was an incident and the airframe was listed as the primary cause of blue on blue... I am sorry. Unless it was a rack failure, which still is not the airframe, that was a seriously flawed investigation. Quote:
I haven?t seen the numbers for A-10 blue on blue but since the platform?s primary mission is CAS the chances of them having fratricide would be higher than F-18s. A-10 folks take the mission serious and train to it.
The pivot to the Pacific and the capabilities of Russia and China have pushed a lot of platforms closer to obsolescence. OOppps. They finished that Russian hulk and reversed engineered it into a domestic carrier program. For the longest time China could have put a man in space but didn't. They have a patience that is difficult to understand.

You stated: "They don't just wisk these up. They stated in the round table discussion that the stretch goals are already done" to my question as to why they couldn't pivot if they needed to. We have no idea of what already done means. Do they have fifteen stretch goals already done and will pick from them based on demand? They can obviously add a stretch goal if needed as is the case with the rancor keeper. It seems to me there isn't a lot that would stop them from pivoting if need be.

Hasbro doesn't care about stretch goals. The more things/parts/accessories they have to produce, the smaller the profit margin gets.

Not that this needs any more beating into the ground, but the Rancor was truly a comedy of the absolute grossest errors. They?ll tell us all the live-long day that these HasLabs are for the fans and we are only shooting ourselves in the foot by not backing them, but this model simply wouldn?t exist if it wasn?t a Golden Goose for the company. To issue the three most remarkably un-incentivizing stretch goals out of the gate and to have the absolute dearth of wherewithal to not only not include the two most-associated characters with the Rancor but also to not address at least one of these misses until the eleventh hour is singularly unbelievable. As the kids on the Internet say, ?They fumbled the bag.?
