There are some in each wave announced where I think something looks really cool. I just cannot get past the price point for these being 5 POA.
I am glad there are people who like these and get them. I certainly think Super 7 does a nice job with them and the packaging, file cards, etc. |

so these Snakeling soldiers are worse than a Techno Viper mechanic?
When GI Joe invades Cobra headquarter, the snakelings will protect the base with a big wrench? |

You guys can say what you want but I like the Snakeling idea as a low level anarchist type of trooper. You guys need to stop shitting on every new idea that comes along.

If memory serves they only appeared in the Temple Of Darkness mini series. Shipwreck and Snake eyes subdued 2 guards and disguised themselves. So definitely cartoon based.

I guess they don?t realize that everyone in a military unit is not a tier 1 operator. You need support staff too. You really want you tier 1 guys fixing vehicles and doing paperwork? Or do you want them on the front lines where they belong? I feel these are the entry level positions for Joe and Cobra. These guys learn and train and then maybe they become a viper or something like that. Or maybe they are content to stay back at the pit or terror Drome and do the shit work.

These figures reduce my interest in the line b/c I'm a completist collector (sue me) and it adds not just one figure that's trying something new, but six. Again, just for me. If I'm buying one, I'm buying them all - and that means $108 for just-okay ideas just in this one case. I have all of wave 1 and also three Target exclusives so far, but probably won't rush to fill up the rest of the line until I can get them as a marked discount - b/w Waves 2 and 3, I'm nearly 40 figures behind, which is over $700. Probably buy a BAT or 2 when they come out, and that's about it. Super 7 is flooding the market, which is unfortunately the complete opposite of the Joe line. Feast or famine.

It's cool that they're trying new ideas. In order to grow as a brand overall, GI Joe has to introduce new concepts and not just re-sell us our youth every few years. That also means characters like Kamakura and the Blue Ninjas in Classified, it means the Movie line (don't boo, I'm right!).

ETA: It just occurred to me that Shipwreck and another Snake-Eyes have been announced for the next wave without pics. I'm not saying they'll be in Snakeling uniforms, but knowing Super 7 anything is possible. Last edited by PhantomTrblmkr; 05-20-2022 at 09:36 AM.. |
