It's also up for purchase now on Amazon. I bought the blu-ray about a year ago because it wasn't digital, but got em' both now.

Saw it last night. Me and one other guy in the theater.
Ours was shown in the TV aspect ratio and was not hi-rez at all. AMC has been doing this thing in our area where they do not turn the projector on until the previews attached to the film start. The pre movie commercials are audio only. They were late turning on the projector so we didn't get to see the added features or the first 3 or 4 minutes of the movie. Very disappointing for $12.50. |

I think you have a legitimate gripe for a partial refund. You paid for the full experience.

To be fair, the movie's actual animation was drawn at a ratio of about 1.4:1 so that it could be formatted for either theatrical or TV releases. The widescreen Blu-ray had slightly more picture on the sides, but lost some off the top and bottom as well. Here's a comparison composite I made when the Blu-ray came out.

This was the first thing that I noticed when the movie started. Regardless, it was still great to see it on the big screen. I've had the opening theme in my head all day today.

Does anyone else remember whether Don Johnson was displeased or difficult regarding this project? I think I read that somewhere, that he didn't like the project or didn't want to play a soldier, etc. He seemed an odd fit, since most of the voice talent weren't household names.

Even with cropping, the size difference between Scarlett's breast and Jinx's head is amusing. If I remember, Scarlett was suddenly holding Duke even though she wasn't part of the previous scene. The cartoons are formatted differently on Amazon Prime than the DVD release, too. |

This was my 4th Fathom event at my local theater (which charges $18 for a ticket btw!) and 2 of them have started on time and been perfectly normal movie experiences. The other 2 times - 1 time they started 20 minutes late, and an additional 20 minutes without audio, before starting the movie over. The other bad experience they started 15 minutes late and cut out the pre-movie part which was a specially recorded message. |
