I just got home from seeing it with my boys. I liked seeing it in the theater. My boys are 18 and 20 and they liked it. They thought some of the bugs in Cobra La were goofy at times but they said they did like seeing it in the theater.
Did everyone have extra in front? A short video from Emily and Lenny and a short joe team video explaining Cobra La and Cobra characters? Do you all catch the the total number of figures to be in Classified by the end of 2023? I thought wow, lots more to announce. |

Wholeheartedly agree, in fact I almost always mildly dislike when films have been "remastered" or "upscaled" or whatever the correct term is. It's generally immersion breaking and sort of dispels the movie magic.
Granted, I don't really have any point of reference as to how that applies to animation. I could see that being completely different. |

Just got home from watching the movie on the big screen. That was a blast! The animation really held up and I enjoyed the whole vibe.
Observations: 1. I'm sad I never got Big Lob or Pythona figures, even when the GI Joe fan club (RIP) did them. 2. Did anyone here ever read the New Jedi Order saga in the Star Wars books? If so, do the forces of Cobra La remind you of the Yuuzhan Vong? 3. I'm gonna need at least a Nemesis Enforcer in Classified! |

I'm curious how many of those are repaints. By repaints I'm referring to all the various colors of BATs, Vipers, Cobra Troopers, Crimson Guards, and of course the various sub-teams.

If there are 35 to go, chances are one third will be new figures. If the line goes past 100, I'll be surprised.

Just got back from watching it. Lots of fun, no glitches or issues that tend to happen to me at Fathom events. Movie was alot faster paced than I remember and it was nice to be able to see many of the background characters I missed (or didn't know) watching it on VHS.
The little intro part w/ Lenny and Emily was nice as well as that little animated intro bit. It was a little strange having them explain who the new characters were as we're about to watch the movie that introduces them, but still appreciate that there was effort to do a little something new to make it feel special. As far as remasters of movies in theaters go, I don't watch a whole lot but I think Jurassic Park 3D was AMAZING. Great movie on its own but getting to see dinosaurs actually be huge was something else. And not to derail the thread, but as far as Classified figure count goes - with the "In name only" reveals and all the current figures including repaints I think we're already around 80 or so. |

While this is true, there are movies shot TOO DARK and would benefit greatly from a brighter look. You can still be dark and moody just not THAT dark. There is a balance. A lot of directors and lighting technicians don't get this. If you can't see what's going on in the scene enough to follow it...TOO DARK.
