Great movie to return to the theaters for. Actually playing at the Dole Cannery. Feels so 1930's-ish to say that.
Will newer movies have made this look even better now? JJ Trek really did help Star Trek The Motion Picture but still fall asleep in the middle of it.

I may be in the minority here, it could just be me wanting this, but I would love to see G.I. Joe: The Movie with all new updated animation or CGI.
Maybe even add in some additional scenes with more of the 87 characters like Outback, Psyche-Out, Chuckles, Big Boa, Croc Master, Crystal Ball and Raptor. Last edited by sbartek1974; 05-14-2022 at 04:09 PM.. |

It was this movie that finally pushed me out of GI Joe in the 80s.

It's so interesting to see how divided we are on this.

Not everyone liked the cobra la bit but being a fan of lovecraft i enjoyed it the hell outta 5his movie. I just wish duke had ACTUALLY died ( i mean the guy gets captured as much as daphne from scooby soo ) and the zarana naked scene was left in.

I wonder if the original movie had any deleted scenes they could splice back in. Would be interesting if they added in some modern cameos or something like how the original Star Wars had the Han Solo walking around Jabba and stepping on his tail.

The question is will we still be divided?
How accurate is our memory of the movie. Originally, I didn't like Cobra-la but after all these years my opinion might change. The movie might have improved with age. Besides other than watching the DVD's in the conference room this is a chance to see the Joes on the big screen again.

I will always love the movie. Like I stated, the intro and beginning hooked me. The rest of it was good, too, especially when sarge and the renegades attacked cobra island. When serpentor cries, "I want their heads! This I command!"...iconic.
BUT- just to be clear (cause I don't wanna start a rumble on the tank), I totally get why those of you who don't like it feel that way.

I really did not expect this to end up happening, since it didn't originally go to the theater. I'm glad it is though. I'll enjoy it.

I like Cobra-La fine. I just hated the completely ridiculous and hamfisted way The Movie inserted them into the mythos. I hate that aspect of it the most, so the fact that it turns my fav character into an incredibly eloquent snake with an impressively strong vocabulary sort of leaves me with no real reason to watch it again. Slaughter is fun in it, though.
