Among my other comic book wish list are: the sea helicopter from issue 1,Zartan's swamp robots, Arbco semi-truck (with secret control room) and Cobra Commander's submarine with seaplane.

I used to shit all over Hiya Toys for their poor quality control...their early Alien figures had soft sculpts, so-so paint, piss-poor articulation (knees and elbow that would bend, like, 10 degrees) and were fragile as hell, with limbs that could easily snap off at the joint.
However, they have seriously raised their game in recent years and pretty much addressed all of their past issues in terms of sculpt, paint, and overall QC. Modern Hiya figures are really good for the most part, especially their Robocop stuff. That said...GI Joe is a weird fit for Hiya. I guess since Hasbro is moving back to o-rings for the 3.75" figures, they're letting other companies tackle the modern era stuff. But that said, I don't feel that the type of figures that Hiya makes would work well with GI Joe. I guess we'll see! Dude, I can attest to how good their Robocop stuff is. Their Robocop figures are sturdy, very detailed, and well articulated. Hiya's ED-209 is fucking amazing and is exactly like the NECA version in every way, just shrunken down to 4" scale.

Eeh. I do enjoy Super7's GI Joe ReAction figures, but I'd rather get a real, fully-articulated figure of that Cobra robot. Maybe even one that you can take apart and reassemble with a head full of little baby-spider robots like in the comic.
If not Hiya, than Hasbro should consider doing a HasLab project for it. I bet it would get funded. Makes sense. I just thought it looked like the sort of fun that Super7 would get behind. |

Now there was a sick-ass helicopter in the original GI Joe Yearbook 1...it was kind of an assault/cargo carrier hybrid. Now THAT thing was cool. Some of the assault vehicles that Cobra used in issue 8 (when GI Joe was guarding the space shuttle launch) were cool as well, like the S.E.A. Legs (which were bipedal attack walking thingys).

Yeah, I could totally see they doing something like that. I mean, Super7 has made oversized GI Joe figures before (like the Cobra BAT), and if it's the only way I can get it, I'll deal.

Might have the issue wrong , the sea copter was used to get the Joes to Cobra's floating base. Very Jack Kerbyest. Side shot of it in the background. Also would love to have that transport they used against The Oktober Guard.
