Im a smoke test.
Im thinking about trading up to 20 figures just to not get supply chain and inch us closer to unlocking more figures. Not having the variants this time wrenches my plans because i was wanting to buy as many of unknown, castigadores, and great whites in troop packs to fund more. Now im getting less(20 vs 26) because no variants are being made and I dont want to have too many duplicates. Kind of sucks. |

I'm happy with my all in for now, but I'll add in doubles once more designs are shown. Though I have more confidence in blind buys of Rudat's work than anyone. We are charging $20 per figure for double all-in backers, and $22.50 for all-in backers. And we are producing a LOT less than Hasbro (which makes the per figure cost much more expensive). Quote:

Welp, now we wait. If you need something to occupy your time, I suggest reading Carson's profiles on Ron, Mark and Bill. The amount of amazing figures these have designed is staggering. I'll gladly go all-in on any kickstarter they are a part of. I don't care if the figures come in a brown paper bag, they'll be worth it.

And what a dream team it is! I will say not having the day-to-day pressures of executives breathing down your neck to meet quotas or other issues that may have plagued these folks in the 80's & 90's driving them to produce their best work may be a bad thing, but then again unfettered designing, no shackles and the benefit of years of experience may cancel out those other concerns. What a fun campaign this was. Walking back anything I said previously about not backing due to lack of funds or whatever other sour grapes excuses I coughed up at the time, I did eventually fund for what I felt I could afford... "pick any 4 + Retelo". I couldn't NOT back. That felt wrong somehow, especially having been at Joefest and having witnessed Carson' enthusiasm in person. That coupled with sitting in on the Recall panel and hearing the passionate fans who had designs chosen be able to speak on their behalf. All of this really worked on me like a powerful ambrosia. It reminded me of being the friendless new kid who noticed Snake eyes across a school soccer field, and was drawn to that toy like a moth to a flame. I knew I had to be a part of finding out what was going on there. Which consequently led to friendships that I treasure and great memories. Anyway, enough maudlin tear wiping. Great job Carson and team! Now bring on those Recall t-shirts and other merch! I need to display my love of this burgeoning brand in a big way.
Thank you all for the overwhelming support. We're rolling!

Hey Carson, is there any chance of introducing some sort of Flag Point system? Maybe make an exclusive repaint or Frankensteined figure available only to people that mail in 10 points and $20.

Filled out my backerkit order - glad that I won't be charged until February as I added some more figures!

I was also going to ask, is there a way now to accurately track how much more money the backer kit has added on to the original campaign?

I fully intend to develop the aforementioned variants, but as you probably have likely surmised, additional arms and heads will mean additional molds. So, we'll need to fund those. But first, we've got to hit $480k to unlock the remaining figures. I have no doubt we'll get there! Once we do, I'll put additional possibilities in front of the backers to vote on: ? Enemy variant troopers ? Comic book ? Year two figures I did not take that as "no variants." I took that as, "We can get variants, we just have to unlock them through funding like we did with the original figures." So variants aren't off the table. They're just not guaranteed. They either might not unlock, or the backers might vote to prioritize something else, like a comic book. ETA: Personally, I hope the comic would be a separate campaign that funds multiple issues and we keep the funds from the figure campaign going towards figures: variants and sub-team repaints like midnight ops.)

For right now, it's still the kickstarter page. You can read the updates and the comments on the updates for the latest straight from 3DJoes' posts and comments.
