Can May 31st hurry up already?! I am excited to see what submissions they pick, although I am guessing we will not find out until the kickstarter begins. Regardless, this is amazing and I seriously wanted to cry a little because Carson?s dream is coming true and through it he is helping to make much of the community wishes come true as well. What a feat getting the original guys back together for a 40th anniversary project. It would be awesome if Hasbro gave them the license but it will be awesome either way. Thank you Carson for this! I will support you and every other o-ring campaign out there because I truly adore GI Joe! Thanks to everyone who keeps o-ring relevant!
Speaking of; I wonder why Joe is so desperate to tie brand reinvention to a successful movie. Why not something more grassroots, vis a vi' how we in the 80's experienced the brand- cartoon, new toys (not just the 50th version of Snake eyes), video game, etc. If cracking the code with a good movie is proving elusive then try a series on Netflix or some other smaller scale effort. Because ultimately how long before we 80's kids are too old to keep buying memories from 40 years ago? At some point the brand needs to bring in something new or it will always be a property relegated to the vault until they try a new movie and see if it sticks this time. |

Hey, I mostly lurk around here but this project has kinda re-lit a flame in my heart to engage on the fan creation side more. I submitted these last night, just in time.
I hadn't looked at many other people's entrees until I was almost done to make sure I wasn't unconsciously influenced. I'm going to read through and catch up today, excited to see what everyone came up with! Meet Runback (with PAC-DOG), Deadzone and the LARVA trooper.

i've been working my ass off getting projects done at work that are rush jobs and getting overtime as a result. i hope some lessons are learned from callsign: longbow as far as hefty stretch goal pricing is concerned. i'll have at least as much as i put into that one into this one - it's only fair.

Its a very exciting project and the submissions all look great. It is going to be a hard job for Carson and the guys to choose just 16. I wish Hasbro would make them a part of the GI Joe family but hey it is only the start of Yo Joe June. Maybe an announcement may come ....

Ran into some delays but I am definitely gonna comment (and substantively!) on everybody’s work. Too much great stuff not to!
