Bobby Vala and the Honcho have all admitted to lurking on H.I.S.S. Tank when they were at Hasbro. What separates Emily from all of the other Hasbro employees from have been on here to my knowledge she's the first current Hasbro to be publicly known as a Hasbro employee on the Tank.

Also, the current JOE team has acknowledged that they factor the wants of fanbase into their decision making.

Wasn't Mark Weber still a Hasbro employee when he would post here? Or was that after he became unemployed from Hasbro?

Emily was active during the HasLab funding period, but the bulk of her posting was there. No idea if she's been around since that funding period ended.

I suspect others do at least skim from time to time, but what threads/posts - well, your guess is as good as mine, and whether they're really taking ideas from here and using it in any way to guide strategic decisions is fully unknown. We're basically a no-cost free-flow (but also unmoderated and highly selective!) focus group to them.

Some of the decisions they've shown us since yesterday (the Viper pack, the O-Ring officer/trooper set) show they grasp the concept of builders, but the 1:1 Officer:Trooper ratio makes me think they don't quite grasp the range of views in how consumers troop build. That is, they understand *that* people build, but less so *how* people build (knowing full well there's a lot of different styles of builders, so no clear one-size-fits-all option).

I know they've always been particular about who they give permission to use insignias &etc, but I seem to remember reading something a decade or so ago about them actually licensing and charging for it. I can't imagine the original Gung Ho sporting the giant USMC logo back in the day if Hasbro had to pay for it. Maybe they did, but it reasonable. Anyway, I suspect that's why we're not seeing it on Classified GH. I could be completely full of shit about this too though.

I think they do, but it was a case of pick your poison. They might be pigeonholed into the two-pack SKU for busine$$ reasons. In which case would you rather a Trooper and Officer together, or a Trooper and Duke?

There's always a use somewhere for extra Officers, even if the 1:1 isn't ideal.

It's depends on when the military trademarked their i.p.'s and like you said how much it cost back then.

I assumed everything would be on Pulse as well as wherever it was exclusive. That's been true of the CI and Walmart Retro releases for a while now.

The problem with Pulse, as I've mentioned before, is the harsh limits per customer. It does little good to have an army builder (like the Viper three pack and the O-ring Officer/Trooper pack) on Pulse but have it limited to one or two per customer.

I hope Toynewsi.com is right and the Vipers are at least a fan channel exclusive so I can pick up more somewhere else.

I also hope they raise their limits to two for things like the Retro Walmart Classified. I would prefer to skip using Walmart altogether.

They didn't say, but usually premium members get an hour to themselves.

That hasn't always happened, though (the BATs and Alley Vipers are the most recent example).
