Well, all those Gung Hos must mean there are AVs and BATs alongside them, right? I keep finding Gung Hos at Target and Walmart so I presume that means AVs and BATS were there and just somebody wiped them out quick.

I thought McFarlane's DC Multiverse was the top selling action figure line last year? I know I read that somewhere.

What do you want?
I want the time between preorder and shipment to be less than 6 months (like it was when Classified first started). I want them to stop announcing waves and preorders when they have no realistic idea when they will produce and ship. I would prefer that they not trickle their supply out in the bizarre way that the BAT, AV, and Storm Shadow wave have appeared.

As I've said many times, I couldn't care less whether they ship a single figure to brick and mortar stores. I don't think anyone was arguing for plentiful waves of BATs sitting on store pegs (you are the one that brought up "in circulation" for some reason).

I am not sure why you are defending Hasbro so vehemently. There are serious logistical and production issues affecting this line (Hasbro has conceded that in their PR statements). I don't think it's crazy to be disappointed by the lack of G.I. Joe stuff since 2021. We've basically gotten two figures (BAT and AV) since before PulseCon. That's not great.

He claimed to outsell Legends. Those claims were disputed and it's not clear if Legends is the top selling line either.

I mean, do you REALLY expect Hasbro to say "We're prioritizing Marvel and Star Wars because we pay a shit ton to our Disney Overlords, Transformers because there is a robust third party market we're competing with, and we prioritize stuff like Power Rangers because they're 97% reusing the same 2 bodies over and over?"

This... absolutely this---^^ I also want them to stop revealing things altogether until we have older product in hand. Super 7 holds to a no more than four waves in the backlog before they start showing more product, and I like that method. At this point Hasbro could reveal more and still be under the wire, and obviously Hasbro can do whatever it wants our comments aside, but collector ennui is setting in for me with more reveals than actual product on my shelf. Fortunately Mom/Pop's are getting the Storm Shadow and Walmart exclusive Retro waves, and I'm perfectly fine going to those places to get my product, but the mark up is a bit of a sting. Hasbro needs to get its distribution and time to market straightened out, and once it is then we should be in a better place, but for now stop getting too far ahead of yourselves. Fans uncomfortably joking about their figures as NFT's is not altogether an untrue reality and it stings greatly.

I don't think Todd would make such a bold proclamation and be wrong. Furthermore, he was told that statistic (his words) by the official toy industry data collection/mining services who track such things, so he was simply crowing about what he was told.

As to Marvel Legends. Based on shelf tags getting pulled for ML at Target and the glut of ML Eternals, Multiverse of Madness and other waves on pegs currently... I'd say the industry data trackers are likely correct about DC Multiverse selling better.

If I remember correctly, someone on the Marvel team provided a soft rebuke and pointed out that the way the data is collected, every DC figure Todd sold was being compared against every SKU or wave of Marvel Legends.

As I understand it, his entire line outsold Eternals. His entire line outsold the AoA wave. From what the Marvel people were saying, that doesn't mean that every DC figure outsold every Marvel Legends figure in whatever given period (I think a year) was being compared.

I'd be hard pressed to ever say Marvel Legends last year sold better than DC Multiverse. If only because ML had quite a few waves that languished including Shang Chi, AoA, and Eternals. Meanwhile McFarlane restocks you could count on 2-even 4 new waves on the pegs and then selling for the most part. Not to mention they had a double presence in places like Target and Walmart (being in the toy aisle and the collectibles section).

Which has been a problem with Hasbro for years. They use SKUs differently than other companies.

I remember reading it was a huge issue when stores were ordering a certain SKU for new figures and a toxic pegwarmer like Black Series Jyn Erso was also under that SKU despite being a different wave, so lo and behold - more Jyns littering the pegs instead of new waves!
