There is a timetable for everything other than exclusives to basically go windowless.

This has gotten so much "airtime/ink" that it's not worth getting into, but if you love the plastic-free packaging, you've won. And if you hate it, you've lost.

Not all legends and star wars, just the online exclusive expensive ones and multipacks (again, for online). Store lines will still have plastic.

I think they're probably gonna see the death of The Vintage Collection for sure once the Walmart exclusive OG 96 are done. Not that Hasbro and Disney care, since TBS apparently makes more money and allows them to sell the laziest, cheapest looking repaints for $25+.

If Hasbro doesn't up the QC I can see other lines hurting, too.

The date may say 2023, but the packaging, etc. has already been designed. There is a huge lag on final design and shipment (obviously). Benjamin above has a different interpretation so maybe I'm wrong.

But based on what I've seen with Transformers and some other lines that don't have the lag between design and shipping to store that GI Joe suffers from, I think it's all going to be window-less in the near future.

There is a long, complicated explanation of this buried somewhere from Hasbro's report to shareholders (last year I think).

This is different than what was said over on Yakface. Jayson reiterated that ONLY exclusives will have plastic packaging, and all other stuff, including mass release Vintage Collection, Retro, etc. will be boxes.
