I really don't understand the whole supply chain issue - but in the big picture, GIJoe is way down the list of things that bug me.
Why can I not buy a Ford Bronco when there are parking lots full of them at the Ford plant? Chip shortages. Take out the computerized parts and just sell me a stripped-down 1970s manual shift version with no touchpad and backup camera. I'd buy that. My poor cats can't get a regular stock of their Friskies because there is an aluminum can shortage. An aluminum can shortage? Crazy times... "Chip shortages" have PS5s almost impossible to get. But XBOX S and X and Switches are plentiful. "Supply chain issues" have Hasbro stuff sitting MIA. McFarlane, NECA, and Mattel have plenty of new products on shelves. |

I don't know how anyone can say that Hasbro has "tried to kill" G.I. Joe or that they don't care for the fans. Classified hit, fans had mixed reactions to designs, and Hasbro acted almost immediately and even re-did the first wave of figures in more muted colors.
If they didn't care, or if they were keen to see the line die again, why would they make any adjustments at all? |

I think Hasbro is just prioritizing. Action figures are probably a drop in a bucket in their catalog.
If the product is here, it must be the offloading of containers that is the issue. I remember hearing before on the radio that the big issue is they don't have enough truckers because of California's Vax laws and truckers not wanting to be vaccinated? |

I remember hearing before on the radio that the big issue is they don't have enough truckers because of California's Vax laws and truckers not wanting to be vaccinated? The port congestion is caused by plenty of things. In short: At one point it was not enough port labor to actually unload the ships because of Covid and strict covid restrictions. Then they also have too many containers on the docks (both full and empty), so no where to put offloaded containers. Too many empty containers left behind because not enough truckers to move them (they were actually overflowing into neighborhoods). Too many full containers because not enough warehouse workers on the ports or at distribution centers. The actual highway system in California limits offloading because you can't take a load over 80,000 lbs out of the ports - so you must break down a container before taking products to distribution centers. The State actually just relaxed some infrastructure regulations to try to get containers directly from the ships to distribution centers outside of the ports to bypass the congestion, but there are limitations to that also because most of the truck routes use Federal Interstates and California cant control them. Also Sea containers are different from normal trailers and take a special chassis to transport on the road. And finally not enough labor at distribution centers for retailers, which means they can't accept containers from the docks. its alot! |

Factually inaccurate. Hasbro IS getting product here, just not the product you collect. Other companies are also having problems getting non-priority product into the states and several of their lines have seen equatable price increases. Ask any WWE Elite collector.
Once again, you're baltantly ignoring the fact that manufacturing costs have gone up exponentially (I believe the estimate was roughly 25%). That is what this initial price increase reflected. The costs would go up even further to compensate for a shipping rate 10x more expensive. McFarlane also "shits on his customers," it's just too many are starstruck to see it. His quality is sinking and his QC is suffering. His figures are seeing less and less paint apps, less articulation, and more and more breakage due to cutting corners with design choices (all cost cutting measures). Plus, he's choosing quantity over quality and virtue signaling over the whole price increase ordeal, compensating his loss on standard sized figures with inflated prices on his larger sized figures, accessories and exclusives. What McFarlane figures are getting less articulation? Some of the recent ones have had added articulation. A few Batmans now have thigh cuts, the range of motion on the neck, wrists and ankles is getting better and less ugly. Heck even the torso/ab areas range of motion is getting better. I will give you the quality thing though. I?ve seen some badly painted ones. I had a Zod break out of the package and a Batman with two right shoulders.

Everything’s going to be fine guys I got an email from Walmart today telling me that my preorders are set and will be shipped on time in September. Couldn’t help but giggle.

McFarlane figures are far inferior to Hasbro, Mattel and NECA in my opinion: They have yet to incorporate digital face decos, the paint is often sloppy and even with multiple points of articulation, the figures are no fun to pose. I recently bought some Warhammer McFarlane figures and they are basically giant hunks of plastic that can’t do much. They’re huge and well sculpted but impossible to put into a convincing pose.
The biggest disappointment is the Batman ‘66 line. I would be all in but the figures are just mediocre. |

And horribly overpriced for what they are. Even on clearance, it's easy to pass them up.
