The solution to the file card issue is an very easy fix that Hasbro is making a hella lot more difficult than it has to be.

FWIW I agree with your points but the "MAKE IT ENGLISH ONLY COME ON!" folks around here tend to "win" any discussion on the topic by being inexhaustible in the level of anger they have that a global corporation is not prioritizing middle-aged American men over everyone else for a change.

It's worth noting that people are fine with the package (or recognizing the silliness of making a capital-b Big Deal out of it), but because there's nothing to be "against," simply aren't vocal about it.

Greetings! Don't be a dick. There's nothing wrong with fans sharing their ideas for resurrecting traditional file cards for the 2022 retro-carded Classified figures. It has nothing to do with impersonating Hasbro employees. And it is clearly quite relevant since the conversation took off when people saw the file card on the back of the Baroness figure. If you can't see how that would be relevant in this thread, that's on you.

Fans express all kinds of ideas on this site for figures, packaging and future products. That's what fans do. There's no need to try to demonstrate some sense of superiority over those that have different wishes than you do.

Nothing about what I said is dickish. Acting like you could do someone's job better than them when you know nothing about their job and are not qualified to do their job is being a dick. They're not doing these multi-language cards just to spite all of you. Ever think that maybe they already exhausted all solutions and that in 2022 this is the best they can do?

I'll be honest - I never cared about the file card bios. As a kid I just made up my own bios.
Zarana was Cobra Commander's side piece because she was in the comics for a moment, for example. Firefly was a bounty hunter who frequently worked with Boba Fett. Baroness was a Sith Lord with Vader because they both wore black and were villains. Stuff like that.

Regarding file cards, here's my take. Yes I would love to have traditional file cards instead of the ridiculous multi-language. If the multi-language is absolutely necessary and there is absolutely no way around it, then fine. In that case, forget about file cards and don't do it in the first place. If Hasbro can't do it right then there's absolutely no point in doing it in the first place.

I grew up in a rural part of the Philippines where our toys were sold with Japanese language packaging, or English language packaging. I don't recall seeing any Spanish language toys. Reading the rich stories about each character/toy was part of the rewarding experience in being able to get a hold of these figures (be it GI Joe, Transformers, TMNT, MOTU, etc). Especially since comics weren't cheap, or easy to come by.

The bio section shown on those retro card backs, IMO, are a waste of space. To me the lack substance is as annoying and off-putting as the bios on the Marvel Legends Figures. I like knowing that I had just saved my money in order to buy an elite shock trooper who could stand toe-to-toe with my chef. That got me really excited about what I bought and help me make the decisions about what to buy with my saved up money.

If the reason for going with the multi-lingual universal card backs is cost savings, then they should just get rid of all that useless text, and replace with ad space that they could sell to the other Hasbro product teams.

If the issue has to do with inclusivity, I find it hard to believe that people those European Union nations (France, Spain, Italy and Germany) won't know how to read/translate English. I have no data to back the previous sentence, it's just my opinion. I could be wrong. I'll take it back if I'm wrong. If it's too expensive, at the current MSRP, to produce packing that's completely in one language, then bump up the price. They come up with lame excuses have increased the MSRP anyway. What does it matter at this point?

If the issue is that you want to learn French, German, Spanish, Italian or English by comparing the 5 different bios on the universal card back, then good for you. But I would suggest paying for actual lessons to supplement the card back translation curriculum.
