Quick Kick's bare feet. Unrealistic you say? Yes, yes they are.
But then so is a guy in red pads wielding a laser rifle in 1982. So is all of Cobra. So is a guy that can disappear in shadows and whose skin changes color in the sunlight (and I don't mean brown, we're talkin' bright blue or green here! lol). A Scottish lord who dons a chrome mask with his chest muscles popping out of his black leather S&M suit while dealing arms for the enemy. A sailor who has his pet parrot on his shoulder in battle. We could go on for days. I am fine with Quick Kick having no shoes or boots on. It's what makes him unique and Quick Kick. While I certainly can understand some not caring for that aspect of his appearance, if it's solely (no pun intended) based on the fact that he is barefoot, then you can pick apart the entire Joe line and nearly every single character for being unrealistic. G.I. Joe was never very realistic. It has always been military fantasy mixed with sci-fi and fantasy elements. And that is what made it so awesome and unique in the first place! |

I am thinking that everyone has that stance, and if not, they should. But I do disagree in the sweeping generalizations that the confederacy was evil or that every confederate was fighting for slavery. I wholeheartedly believe that many weren't fighting because they supported slavery. They were fighting for their homes, their neighbors, their families, their history, etc etc None of us can ever know because we weren't there and they didn't tell us |

It is certainly a fascinating discourse today. A thoroughly insightful and genuinely thought-provoking deep dive on the troubled history of the USA, interspersed with commentary on the lack of consistency of elbow plastic coloring.

I always laugh at the hypocritical ?state?s rights (to own slaves)? rationale because the catalyst for the shooting war was western expansion and the new state?s right to decide if they would slave or free. Abolition wasn?t in the table but it was inevitable that free states would outnumber slave states. They knew the vast majority in this country did not want plantation owners gobbling up land on the frontier and bringing in thousands of slaves.
Northern and Southern whites got along just fine because the Union bailed on reconstruction and allowed the ex-confederate Southern plantation owners to re-establish the antebellum racial hierarchy through Jim Crow, Debt Peonage and Tenant farming. And since they were no longer valuable property, black people were much more in danger of racial violence. For black people it was like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Exactly. Because if people knew history, they would know that the rebel flag was revived as a symbol in opposition to the expansion of civil rights. Southern writers intentionally rehabilitated the motivations of the South, downplayed and sugarcoated slavery to make Jim Crow more palatable. Hell, the even mythologized the incompetent Robert E Lee into a war hero. It isn?t ?innocent? or ?no big deal? and the fact that it was prominently featured in Smokey, Dukes of Hazard and a kids toy line says a lot about how this country never really came to grips with the past and the ensuing repercussions. It was the States right to leave the Union verses the authority of the Federal Government. Slavery was dying. Not only was is morally reprehensible. It was not economically viable. The confederate army had "colored" regiments just like the North. You can not imply that those soldiers were fighting to support slavery. If we are going to address the historic failures of equal rights. We have to address the negligent that WW1 and WW2 veterans also faced. Those troops fought for freedom just like their ancestors did and didn't get equal rights until the 1960's. As for Smokey and the Bandit. Bandits car wasn't a representation of the South like a car named the General Lee can be perceived. His car had a plate that was the flag of Georgia. Even though Slavery is illegal in every country on the planet. It still exists today. Plus here is a surprise. Racism is not exclusively perpetrated by Caucasians. I would rather have people openly display symbols and speak their minds so I can easily see if I want to associate with them or frequent their business.

I agree on swappable feet. Not only does it make sense for the figure in the context of the story it gives additional parts for customization.

Read the first paragraph from each states declaration of causes for seceding. It?s actually all about owning people. https://www.battlefields.org/learn/p...eceding-states |

What the absolute fuck
EDIT: simply pointing out that this post can be thoroughly deconstructed from the absurdity of your claims to the straw man of "all these black people" (jesus christ do you see the words you type in full view of other people?) to the "not all confederates owned slaves, therefore trying to overthrow the federal government in order to keep slavery legal was noble" logic. It can be responded to. But it's far too colossally fucking stupid to do so. It's clear your epistemic world is myopic and vile. I am not defending the confederacy. I am defending the average joe confederate soldier who may or may not have cared about slavery at all. I don't know that these were bad, evil people. I wasn't there. there were other circumstances at play and it could have happened to any one of us born in that place and time. I am guessing that each and every one of us would have been confederates if you were there and that was your home. Just imagine some regular ass dude with no education, and no exposure to anything else in the world. His neighbors a few hundred acres away had always had slaves, he didn't think much of it because thats just the way it was. Everyone he knows is going to fight. You think he is going to sit back and ponder the morality of the war or what it means? Let's not forget that slavery had existed here for 250 years... ant it took that long to put a stop to it. You seem to think that everyone was alarmed by the atrocity of it, but still allowed it to exist that long.. it simply wasn't a high priority for most americans for a very long time.. doesn't mean they were evil.. the same can be said about many social injustices in our country's history.... and P.S... I don't see how saying "all these black people" is offensive. You may be offended by it, but that's on you, not me |

Unlike me, who grew up in the north and was taught in elementary school that the Confederates were evil villains, both of my sons grew up in the south, respectful for those who died in the service of the Confederacy, and one of them continues to this day to celebrate Cross-Country as his favorite G.I. Joe character. At the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention in Dallas, we stood in line to meet Cross-Country voice actor Michael McConnohie. My son, then only eight years old shared with him his love for that particular character and made what I thought was an unreasonable request of Mr. McConnohie, asking for a Rebel Yell. To my surprise, what followed next was a battle cry so loud I nearly jumped out of my skin, followed by a long Yo Joe! It startled many in the convention hall, and a Dallas Police Officer working security there as an extra job came running inside thinking all hell had broken loose. I was so happy for my son and yet embarrassed all at the same time. I first wore the uniform of our country in 1986, (not knowing at that time that I would serve for 21 years) and witnessed that some service members displayed the Battle Flag (it's actually called the Army of Northern Virginia Battle Flag, not the Stars and Bars... that would be the other flag which does represent the Confederate States and is proudly carried into Texas rodeos). The belt buckle that Cross-Country wore would not be an issue in 1986, but today would be an entirely different story. Personally, I think of the G.I. Joe team as a nostalgic 1980s thing and can't even imagine them serving in today's climate. While living in Germany from 2009-2013, we took our boys to Bastogne, Belgium for a World War II reenactment of the siege of Bastogne. Europeans and Americans did a fantastic job with their 101st Airborne Division period accurate uniforms and vehicles, and the cold weather and snow made it all seem perfect. What was missing was the German army reenactors... none at all. The Belgians explained to us that years ago some people were offended, so now there only exists one faction in that annual reenactment of the siege. (That is sad for them, really.)

Same boat but with Dusty. Was supposed to arrive on Weds and now it says Dec 15th-17th. Amazon must have ran out of stock and I too ordered within minutes of them going up but I'm sure the order that things are fulfilled also has to do with product getting to the closest distribution center. I notice for me, my shipments start at a distribution center in MD before they go to another distribution center in VA. Once in VA, they go out for delivery to my home. Well, good thing I kept my Pulse preorder. It's has a tracking number and about to ship for Thursday deliver. Once it ships, I'll cancel my Amazon Dusty.
