I reached out to Hasbro regarding Mindbenders discolored shoulders. They just got back to me. They are out of replacements - but offered a free complimentary 'smaller' figure (randomly chosen by the warehouse) as compensation. So... we'll see. Maybe they will send me a Crimson Guard or something cool!

I see a ton of people online who absolutely still hate Spirit as a racist stereotype even with the Classified upgrade.

I really don't get how you do an American Indian figure and not make it have "some" stereotype look anyway...otherwise, that kind of defeats the point of trying to show that the Joes are a diverse lot if he looks like Average Joe off the street.

As a kid it was really cool to see how diverse the Joes were. My friends, even female friends, as children were playing with Joes because there was a character for everyone. Which IMHO was why so many of my friends loved Snake-Eyes. Could be ANYONE under there. He could be male, female, Black, white, whatever. Always a fan of NEVER showing who was under the mask IMHO because that was such a great aspect of a franchise with a main character who could be anyone.

Am I the only one who feels Scarlett has NEVER been "southern" in like ANY Joe media? If I didn't know she was from Georgia because of her file card I'd assume she was just some red head from some random East or West coast city.

Which is going to be a real problem for the Indy line. They can add Toht, sure, but I'd hate to say it bust MOST of the villains in Indy are problematic today.

Probably yet another reason why the Indy line is a bad idea to release. I just hope they get to a 6" Elsa Schneider before it dies because I'd buy 20 easily.

Was really hoping for troop builders because that is what I did with the 3.75 line. I used all those Cairo thugs as terrorists fighting the Joes on those Click N Play Battlefield sets.

Sorry to post so much this morning (we're closed at work and I'm bored!)

You know, they could simply do what Mattel did for Big Boss Man - took the flag off his arm and then released him like that.

Which is kind of...odd. If they don't want kids to purchase a figure with a confederate flag on him...the only way kids will know he exists is to watch old matches on DVD where...he will still have a confederate flag on his shoulder.

Kind of like Hasbro refusing to release Slave Leia as if it means anything when everyone watches RotJ and sees...Slave Leia. Or if they are trying to not release Nazi figures in the Indy line when you have now 3 movies with Nazi troopers.

Pretty half-assed if you ask me. Either dump the characters entirely and the media they are in or just forget about it altogether.

Although...I still wonder how much of that is Hasbro and how much is Disney. Disney has zero issue selling Slave Leia merchandise. I picked up a signed photo of Slave Leia and an artwork of her down IN Disney World.
