I know American Mythology teaches us that the Confederacy was some lost noble cause but to some of us, that iconography is evil. The same Southern writers and historians who once owned slaves whitewashed the confederacy to the point that a lot of Americans don?t even believe that slavery was the one and only cause of the war. The funny thing is, the confederate flag made a huge resurgence in 1918 after the film BIRTH OF A NATION depicted heroic Klansman, leading to a resurgence in the Klan and again during the Civil Rights movement as an instrument of counter protest (that?s when the flag began to fly over southern state houses).

The Confederacy was evil, The Confederacy is not synonymous with southern culture and and that traitorous imagery has no place in GI JOE.

Quick Kick? Marvel Legends just released a Shang Chi comic figure that is basically Quick Kick (aren?t they connected in the comics?). He?s a karate master wearing karate gear, no different from Jinx, and Storm Shadow being Ninjas with Ninja gear.

I?ve always hated the bare feet. I?d like to seem him updated a bit.

Two different lines. Now while I 100% agree that Shang-Chi looks like a good Quick Kick and even makes a good stand-in, he's as dissimilar as he is similar. Shang Chi is a master of Gung Fu, with a dedicated and lengthy publication history, steeped in the art and his accessories reflect that (at least Marvel's version of that - though the MCU design was handled better). Ito "Quick Kick" McArthur, on the other hand, is a hodgepodge of Asian racial stereotypes, from his Flag of the Sun headband, and his red Gung Fu sash with Chinese Dragon stars, to his Samurai sword, black gi pants and being bare-chested and barefoot. He was a rarely featured background character in the comic, and an ironic supporting character in the Sunbow series.

Jinx and Storm Shadow aren't really comparable. I agree with you on the needed update. Give the man some shoes and a removable gi top.

As an Asian dude quick does need a little revamp. I would rather him not be made than be a walkng stereotype in not a cool way. Maybe there could be a way where he's updated and can be reverted to his original look?

I've never seen that version before. I spent soooo much time trying to track down the Pyramid of Darkness pack for a reasonable price, that I stopped looking once I found the set (ironically buried beneath a pile of other toys at Ross).

Cross-country's mom was a trucker and his dad was a bulldozer driver. A modern trucker/heavy machinery repair guy would be a good revision. Ballcap with a big American flag. His v2 toolkit strapped to his leg. A little loving stereotypical clothes referring to his old vest even. It could be interested and new.
