I rip the packages apart and recycle them. I guess I'd keep a file card, but I have stacks of the original file cards from the 80s, not to mention they're ALL online. I have zero need or desire for new file cards or reprints of the old ones.

I know who these characters are.

I'd say its more of the nostalgia factor once again. They were really cool in general, and helped add to the wow factor of the packaging.

You missed what Maximus was saying. Those companies you reference are entities outside of Canada and you import the goods. As such, they are not subject to our language/packaging requirements. Hasbro however, sells these from Canadian retailers who are subject to having English and French on the cards. Same works for other countries around the world.

Is it lazy on Hasbro's end? Maybe, but it does keep costs down to some very small degree. If everyone has the same figure/packaging, then what does it really matter.

You don't live in Quebec. They seem to be the only province that actually bans anything that has no French. However, if Hasbro created an entirely French package for them, they wouldn't care that there's no English.
