Did you actually get the female Steel Brigade? Because those haven't arrived in the states yet and what I've been hearing is that Dorkside is fulfilling all the female Steel Brigade orders with the re-issue male Steel Brigade figure. For some reason two weeks ago their product page switched from the female SB to the male SB a day or two before they shipped them out and were even informed by users here on Hisstank so they knew they had falsely advertised the female version and yet sent out the wrong figures still.
yea, i just checked dorksidetoys, the page where you can order the female Steel brigade is no longer active and been taken down, so looks like they sent the wrong figure, which kinda sucks as they had to know they were sending the wrong item, i would be less upset if they had told me they made a mistake and my order was placed on backorder than to knowingly send the wrong figure.

I specifically work in sports apparel design. What we call "lab dips" are when we dye a fabric to match a team's specific pantone color. It can be a long and complicated process. There are also a lot of tests that a fabric needs to pass in order to be suitable for apparel (wash tests, stretch tests, print tests, etc). I assume these benchmarks are much different for a toy than it is for something that is intended to be worn. All of these tests inevitably cost money. Long story short, there's a lot that goes in to making specific colored fabrics. Edit: this is why they tell you to keep whites with whites and darks with darks when you wash your clothes. There's always a chance or residual dye washing out. |

Now that we're getting caught up, do you guys (or gals) ever have days where you take a step back, look at all your figures and wonder what the hell you're doing with your life? lol
Then there are other days, where this hobby gets me through other stressors whether it be work or home life. I mean, I'm not going to stop collecting them, but does make you reconsider why you need 10 cobra troopers. I hope my sons can somehow squeeze some value outa these things down the road, or maybe even myself if I grow tired of them. Anyways, just reflecting as I sit at my desk surrounded by little army men on all sides. Then I pre-order more. |

It's "sponging" into the plastic. This is a decades-old issue with soft goods (and why I hate them). Those old 12" Hasbro figures did the same thing - even their 12" Indy figure had that issue. Mattel has the same issue with their WWE figures, too. It's one of the reasons JazWares either wraps their AEW figure underneath the soft goods or packs them separately in the box.

Not a dumb question. I work in apparel design. All fabrics are technically dyed to make it whatever color it's supposed to be. Or in the case of white fabrics, they're bleached. It all depends on the yarn which are the threads a fabric is woven from. Natural or recycled fabrics that aren't dyed can sometimes look like the stuff inside your couch cushions. Basically, there is no naturally occurring black yarn. If you want to make a fabric black, you gotta dye it.

Fabric for toys or crafts probably doesn't have nearly as many benchmarks to pass in order to become a viable product. |

A lot of the 1/6 collectors recommend an alcohol bath for all clothing and then air drying before putting it on a figure. I know the Phicen silicone bodies especially like to soak up dyes. Interesting thing about the silicone material, if you remove the offending clothing, the ink will eventually bleed into the body and disappear. I imagine tossing Mindbender's cape in alcohol or even a mixture of Dawn and water might do the trick to remove any excess dye.

No problem. The reason a lot of us don't have this dye migration problem with the clothes we wear is because many of the clothes we wear are pre-washed to account for this issue.

Yay, Sarge and the CGs (and SS Ironhide / Wheelie and Leg Pointblank) made it through customs without any additional charges. That one got a bit harrowing.
No joint issues with any of the Joes so far. I damn near missed that tiny slingshot Wheelie has, though.... |

Just ordered 2 Serpentors and 1 Mindbender off Ebay. Reminds me that Joes and coins can be equally expensive. Examples: Pulsecon Exclusive Dr Mindbender (purchased today on ebay) and the US Mint?s 2022 commemorative Purple Heart Silver Dollar (Standard Edition, purchased earlier this year) = around $90 a piece.
