I got an email saying my Mindbender was delivered today. Got home…no Mindbender.

For the mindbender dying issue, you could try soaking the cape in some warm water. That always gets the excess dye out. Also helps to shape the cape to the figure as it dries

Who was the shipper? I have seen UPS mark things as delivered as they enter a neighborhood, then drop them off. MAN did I give it to them for that one when they did it, here. Effing mail fraud, that is, to me.

I can remember where I was when I got my first Return of the Jedi figures. I have vivid memories of getting Yoda and Buzzer at Farm and Fleet. I remember getting Storm Shadow, Flint - and where I was when I got my first Marvel Joe comic. I can remember the smell of the mall in the 80's during a comic book show when I found some missing issues... and I remember getting swivel-arm Scarlett at a Gray Drug while at the mall during that show. I remember me and my buddy finding the new 1991 figures on an endcap of Toys R Us at closing time when we were 19 and being so overly excited about it. And I can remember the looks we got from the people at Bob Evans as we played with our new figures while we had breakfast at 10pm. I remember searching for 25th anniversary figures and finding an entire wave during a family road trip to Chicago. I brought them back to the hotel room and opened them on the bed with my son who was only a baby. My wife didn't understand the excitement - but she welcomed it. And now, I love it when my son's friends come over - and they see my collection in my office. I'm sure to a bunch of fifteen-year-olds I'm a big dork... but they always tend to stop and look and admire the Joes. This hobby has been full of great memories - that's what keeps it going for me. |

If you?re stretching your budget or breaking the bank on this hobby you might need to stop. As long as you stay disciplined, and not feel like you have to have everything you?ll be fine. I took the Maria Khondo ?what makes you happy? approach. In my early action figure collecting days I made a lot of purchases “just because”. I would off 80% of my Marvel Legends, including all my X-Men and now I have a pretty good idea of what I want. GI JOE Classified is the only line for which I have decided to be a total completist. The only line that conflicts me is Masterverse. I love some hate the others. I know I should drop it so I?ve stopped preordering and my policy is “if I see it in the store and like it I’ll buy it”. My wife is totally supportive, mainly because I make enough money to afford the hobby. Think of like a guy who has a classic car they tinker on. My wife is so supportive, she bought me a MIB Imperial Shuttle off eBay for our Anniversary.

Budget has not been the issue. I usually earn my monthly toy budget in less than a day. There was a time when I would only spend money earned in overtime. Recently busted the budget because all the Joe preorders, Two Marvel Legends Waves and SDCC stuff dropped at once/early. The only problem it caused was her ire. ;) It is just the childish appearance and the storing of boxes that bother her.

Serpentor was the Pulsecon exclusive released on Oct 1st. Dr mindbender was the SDCC exclusive and went up for sale all four days of the convention. Both went back up during the 1027 event on October 27th; Mindbender lasted about 4 hours and Serpentor was still available the next morning until about noon.
I'd expect them to show up in Retro form if Walmart's line continues, with basic weapons, hoping they stencil the capes for Mindbender |

You're right, I got them mixed up but otherwise still the same story, both went up for special events then for 1027 where they sold out
