I've told this story before but between my 5th and 7th Birthdays, I received 5 or 6 Stalkers. My mom bought me STALKER, ROCK AND ROLL, a Vamp and a FLAK for my 5th Birthday. My aunts knew I liked GI JOE and they all bought me Stalkers. He was the only black character in the line and I guess family members wanted me to have a character that looked like me. So yeah I'm loving this new classified Stalker.

I borrowed my buddy Matt’s straight arm Stalker & VAMP for a trip to my Great Grandmother’s (all I had was Short Fuze & a RAM). Granny’s dog got a hold of Stalker & chewed him up. On the way home Mom got a new swivel arm Stalker to replace Matt’s, & a Stalker & VAMP for me. I don’t really remember if Matt counted it as a loss or a win to get an upgraded figure. Good memories.

I never cared for the original Stalker figure cause like most of the original 13 he just looked so bland, but I love the Tundra version with the kayak. I'd have to pick that up if they make one for Classified.
Also very high on my wish list, but very unlikely in today's climate, would be a three pack of Stalker, Tommy and Classified based on the Leialoha artwork in issue 26. Somehow I don't see Hasbro tooling up three new figures with Vietnam era outfits and gear. But it would be awesome! |

Stalker was one of the first figures my brothers and I got for Christmas of 1982. We didn't even know what GI Joe was. My Dad had no idea what to get us for Christmas ask a co-worker who told him that his boys were crazy for these GI Joe action figures. So my Dad went all in and got us almost the entire 1982 line. He held back some stuff to give to my brother and I since both our birthdays were the following month. Opening those presents under the tree that Christmas we were quite perplexed. We have never seen these toys, not on TV, a catalog, nothing. All we knew was that they were freaking awesome! They moved better than Kenner Star Wars, had real looking guns and vehicles. I remember spending most of my Christmas day just playing with the GI Joes and when I wasn't playing with them, I was reading the little booklet that came with the RAM that advertised the rest of the line, the blueprints, the filecards. I think a few days later we then discovered there was a comic book and my parents got us a monthly subscription to it. Man, it was so exciting to get that comic book in the mail every month. Stalker, Breaker, Snake Eyes, Cobra Officer, Grunt, Bazooka, Flash, Grand Slam, Rock n Roll, Hawk all have a special place in my collection.

Canceled Slaughter. I never had much attachment to him and wouldn't feel like cracking open the box to see him. I may get Cover Girl for display since her sculpt looks good. The rest, not sure at this point. |

So if we are all getting the wave that was going to release in May 2023 in October of 2022, when will the Dusty/CG wave announced after the Stalker/Twins wave that was supposed to ship before the Stalker/Twins wave ship?
I feel like Hasbro's distribution plan looks like Charlie's Pepe Silva wall from "It's Always Sunny". |

Those reviews on Pulse and Walmart are almost funny. I've never seen anything like it. |

Stalker's fade and scar that doubles as a part are ON POINT. Probably the best rendition of an African American haircut I've ever seen from a mass market toy. Last edited by TheSteelBrigade; 10-07-2022 at 05:00 AM.. |
