His artwork was so awesome!
I read someone else say that his package art made the characters seem like they were real people! I always loved the G.I. Joe artwork so I purchased the 6 volume set of "Collecting the Art of G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero!" from 3djoes.com |

This.
Mr. Garrido was one of the reasons why the G.I. Joe relaunch took off. It was his artwork on the front of the cardback and vehicle boxes. Even the file cards were influenced by him since the profile images were cropped from the card fronts. He painted the vehicles and accessory packaging as well. Héctor Garrido was to ARAH as Don Levine was to the 60s Joe. A true Hasbro Legend in every sense of the word. With his loss and the passing of Earl Norem a few years back, the era I grew up in is now in the history books.

His arts was a big selling point for Hasbro in the 80s, he was a phenomenal artist.
