If they had Larry bring back Snake Eyes for the final story, then wrap it all up with 300 being the end point I think I?d be content with that, then whoever comes next can do whatever they want with it either way. I?d hope if they ?are? losing the license then there?s at least enough time left to wrap up all the loose ends.

I’d hate to see a reboot (and I’d worry that Hasbro would use that to mess with the Classified line). A new publisher could always just move forward and gracefully ignore Hama’s lesser ideas (like Ninja robots) and perhaps smartly undo the awful Snake Eyes decision-making. It’s clear that no modernization of this license is ever as popular as the classic characters…but there’s a way to evolve the classic era that Hama clearly has no grasp on.

Hama wrote a great first arc for G.I. Joe: Origins. Chimera was set-up to be Cobra Commander, but IDW decided to go in a different direction, as we all know.

As for the comments acting like these are things affecting sales, again we have comics selling better than ever, 2020 was a record high year for comic book sales, and summer 2021 was highest selling period for comics in nearly a decade. Marvel Comics who is so full of "lazy", is tearing apart all competition and #1 in the industry by a long shot. |

Or it's what the author and company wants? It's theirs to control, and it doesn't matter in the long term. If that is something that is causing a person to not buy a book, that says something else about said person. The world of comics is full of daily "lazy writing", cheese, retcons, its how comics have been for 50+ years of telling funny stories, but some how sexual orientation is a line for some folks? I thought these books were for adults, but clearly some people aren't adult enough to handle how folks live their lives.

While were are on the subject of diverse and equality where are all the disabled people getting represented? O that's right its not the hot topic. |

IDW started off with some of the best G.I. Joe content we have ever received. G.I. Joe Cobra (Christos Gage - Mike Costashould) could be a Netflix - HBO series it's that good. Then after Dixon left it was all down hill until the final nail in the coffin......
RIP Snake Eyes A G.I. Joe A Real American Hero Obituary 1982 ? 2015 https://news.hisstank.com/2015/04/23...obituary-53929 When this happened the Comic died along with Snake Eyes. Since then the sales have plummeted along with the continuity. I blame the person at Hasbro whose responsibility it was to stop this train wreck before it happened, most likely Derryl Depriest! I don't even know what to say about Larry. I hate to bad mouth him given how much joy he brought to my (and most of our) childhood. The reality is he really should have ended the original Marvel run way sooner, and I don't think his IDW stuff started as strong as the IDW continuity. Honestly, it always felt "weird". In a "There's No Place Like Springfield" Shipwreck not knowing if he's nuts or everyone else is. Just "not right". Like it was all a pretend show. Then it all fell apart . A shame, really.

I don't think it is sexual orientation that pisses most people off it is the fact when they make someone gay, bi, or whatever it isn't to expand the story but just to be politically correct.

But characters where we don't know anything much about their personal life, like about 90% of the Joe cast? No big deal. |
