Hell the Joe's could just be the human allies in a Transformers comic and only get one-shots or miniseries every now and again. |

I keep seeing this on here but Marvel can barely manage the characters they've had since the 1960s, I don't see them handling Joe any better than IDW. Hell, if Star Wars is any indication we'd end up with a massive amount of comics monthly, most of it being bloat with no impact. I'd rather see it go to a smaller company who can focus in on a main title and try to tell interesting stories. I would also guarantee that whoever ends up with the license, Hasbro will want them to fall in with the Classified aesthetic and create stories to flesh that world out.

Marvel is not the Marvel of even 10 years ago. Besides Joe would be lost there. Relegated to 3rd or 4th Tier status.
Marvel would probably license it back to IDW like the they do with the All Ages stuff they don?t want to bother with. Seriously they don?t want to bother with comics for kids who was the primary market for Joe and comics back in the day (80?s). Yes, I know the world has changed but just saying. For Marvel/Disney now, comics are just merchandising item for the movies. All the creative talent is focused on the cinematic universe. The world of comics is certainly different than when a ?toy comic? was set on a path to greatness by Larry Hama in the 80’s. Last edited by Mainframe77; 11-30-2021 at 08:46 AM.. |

Marvel took over Star Wars and Aliens. Both have been pretty meh, Alien especially has been bad. I can't wait to see how they mess up Predator.
IDW gave Larry free reign on his own series, essentially the fan's dream and well we saw how that went. Any other company taking over will just be a new start. |

Would anyone be open to an 'Ultimate Universe' take on GIJoe? Reboot the whole thing - call it GIJoe: Classified - and re-tell stories from the beginning. Use Larry as the inspiration and give him creator credit or something. Mix things up slightly - keep us on our toes again as we watch things play out.
Also, DDP tried their hand at such a reboot: https://www.yojoe.com/comics/devils-due-gijoe-reloaded/ Yes, please. |

IDW is struggling, but overall comic book industry has been doing very well and sales of comics have been up big time in the past two years especially. Covid was especially a big bump in the sales of comics actually even as 2020 was one of the highest selling years for comics in a long time, and the digital sales market keeps growing as well.

I'd say it's more turning long standing heroes gay bi or what ever, if you want to represent people make new heroes that everyone can get behind, simply turning existing heroes is lazy and a sure fire way to piss ppl off.
DC did it right with Bunker for example. |

IDW started off with some of the best G.I. Joe content we have ever received. G.I. Joe Cobra (Christos Gage - Mike Costashould) could be a Netflix - HBO series it's that good. Then after Dixon left it was all down hill until the final nail in the coffin......
RIP Snake Eyes A G.I. Joe A Real American Hero Obituary 1982 – 2015 https://news.hisstank.com/2015/04/23...obituary-53929 When this happened the Comic died along with Snake Eyes. Since then the sales have plummeted along with the continuity. I blame the person at Hasbro whose responsibility it was to stop this train wreck before it happened, most likely Derryl Depriest!
