I wonder if Hasbro knew about this but expected the episode to come out earlier, like, around the time the Haslab was announced. |

Maybe an extra 10-15%. I'm sure the Netflix special had a big effect on prices, but I don't know how many more people watch "The History Channel" that DON'T watch Netflix. There's bound to be some overlap, but how much in the target audience, I don't know.

Hopefully it's better than "The Toys That Made Us" GI Joe episode, it was mostly about the old dolls. But the Masters of the Universe and Ninja Turtles episodes were really good.

If it's like the Food that Made America (great watch btw) this will probably focus more on the creators and better give an idea of what else was going on in the industry.

I saw the ad this weekend and was excited. I enjoyed learning about the background of the food industry.
Name drop:my friend Jeff played Col sanders in the Food that Built America. Shout out to him. |

I GUARANTEE this show will focus on the creation of the original 12" GI Joe line, especially as a counterpoint to Barbie. They MIGHT touch on the 80s revamp, but not enough that I think it would have an appreciable impact on the HasLab

Hopefully they give ARAH at least a few minutes of that. I played with my uncle's 1960's childhood GI Joe stuff that he left at my grandmas but have no attachment to it. I get a kick out of looking at pics now and how they gave the white guys afros with that "flocked" hair.

Betting this will focus on the origins in the 60s but they also might cover the 80s comeback because that is also an interesting story. They will probably only show the new 6" stuff today very briefly. But who knows. Gotta tune in to find out. |
