Laffo. Absolute nonsense.
For all the times we've gone into stores and have seen returned figures with a hodgepodge of fake accessories in the box, the incorrect figure returned because some chud didn't want to pay for a limited edition Dusty Rhodes, so they crammed a Cowboy Bob Orton in the box and returned it someone who doesn't know or care enough at Wal-Mart, this is an impossibly obvious net benefit for Hasbro. You buy it, you open it, you own it. Simple as that. Besides, we already saw "eco friendly" packaging in the Hiss III box. It's not tamper proof, but it is the necessary and unavoidable future.

Retailers have become super lazy with returns, which is why you have these low life pieces of shit switching out items and getting their money back.
Simple solution to this. All retailers who have a toy return look online to see what the item looks like. If it doesn't match, you don't accept the return. Easy as that. This part is crucial. You need to act as if you are going to return the item, and in the case of say Walmart, who accepts a certain amount of returns with no receipt but require an ID...you make a record of attempted fraud for that individual which would come up on future returns. These assholes are stealing, plain and simple. It's time that they are either arrested or banned from making returns just to make their lives miserable. |

Not going to help apathy. Every time I see a repack of a line I collect, I take it to the counter and let them know, they don't care, lol.

I do applaud the attempts at preventing the old switcheroo, but I question whether or not there isn't a better solution than the "key in the back" thing- the printed numbers were already bad enough.
As far as the environmental impact angle, I also applaud that. I'm not going to waste my time debating that with those that choose to bury their heads in the sand, because we all know that's futile, I'm not going to change any minds. I will leave you with this, though, as well as a simple question: How many Hasbro package elements do you think are pictured below?

From Hasbro, I collect Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel Legends, and GI*JOE. If they go this route, I'm out. Hasbro will not be getting my money. The only other non-Hasbro new toy lines I collect are Masters of the Universe Origins and Mego.
More money for vintage toys. |

Egad. Setting aside single-sentence contradictions, I'm curious to see what this packaging might do to a figure's look. Not willing to overreact and declare myself done with a line until I see something in action that I dislike. Carts before the horse and all that.

So...the pinless look is bad, but if there's a visible hole because of the packaging, that's also bad?

Now a hole in the back exists on figs like legends and gi joe ( and starwars to an extant ) so if they utilize that then it shouldnt affect much but if they radicalize this lock n key method to make it blatantly obvious then yes THAT would be a deal breaker, at least for me.
